I desprately need help with my son!
hah those are the two games I am fixated on. (I don't think I specifically mentioned Runescape, but that is the game I play daily to prepare me for my day at work).
I'm glad you liked my posts, if you can't tell I am aspie-hyper fixated on parenting and on video games, so when people bring up both in the same post I tend to get... um hyperfocused.

My boy eventually burnt out of runescape, and moved on to warcraft 3
I am just about done with runescape, as the game has changed to the point where it is not fun to play. I used runescape, to unwind after work, (a transition time for me before supper)
My boy is having trouble participating at school, lol, like many of your kids im sure. They have a sort of point system, where you advance levels, and gain privileges over time. This was not working well with my boy. There are two classes in particular that he is terminally bored in.
The solution in our case....
Computer time at home, is related to the success at school. The rules go something like this:
If you make your minimum point level for the day, you get 1 hour.
if you fully participated in boring class #1, you get an additional 1/2 hour
if you fully participated in borning class #2, you get an additional 1/2 hour
if you level up at school (maintain minimum points for 3 weeks or so) then your base 1 hour, moves up by 1/2 hour.
Weekends are more flexible.
he uses 1/2 hour to wind down after school.
does his homework
and does 1/2 hour before supper
Then in the evening. His evil daddy and he play cooperative versions of warcraft 3 worlds.
and talk about strategy for the game, before bed.
....
It works for him.
It works for me.
Your milage may vary.
