I don't think they can do that. Your debts are your own and they can't hold a sister or brother responsible for your debts.

as far as i understand, no one can be held financially responsible for someone else's debt unless they have signed paperwork assuming that debt...........my MIL has no had to assume any of the debt her ex-husband has incurred( and that's quite alot). my MIL and her ex are still legally married, btw~ :roll:
