Our son has his stuffed Triceratops that he will sometimes take with him in the car, etc... Honestly, since we're in the interest of picking our battles sometimes, we have zero issues letting him bring Greeny with him sometimes.
LtlPinkCoupe- SO sorry to hear what Stuart Little had to put up with. 
I could never imagine doing that to my son. Or Greeny.
On top of that, when my wife and I were married last spring, our son was the ring bearer. We went to the store, bought a small black velvet jacket and modified it to fit Greeny. Then sewed two white ribbons to it, and tied our rings to it. So, our son had his coping toy with him, and Greeny was our ring pillow.
