Hiya folks,

guess what: wife and I generated a little offspring, a very lovely baby boy. I have rarely seen such a cute baby, and I'm not saying this just because I'm the daddy: all my friends said that the baby really is good looking, it's not only my impression.

Anyhow, the adventure has just begun. The baby is only about two weeks old, and I have already surpassed the number of times my father changed my diapers (not to mention feeding, washing etc.). So, it's promising but I should definitely not rest on my laurels.

His new trick is not sleeping, for no apparent reason. We went through the checklist.
diapers: nope
hunger: nope
too cold/hot: nope
too early for tooth pain and even for colics

so I'm puzzled but when I take him in my arms and rock him, he quiets down. Demanding little fellow.

Congratulations!

Oh, yes, he will be demanding ... for the next, oh, 80 years?!

They are so amazing, though. Just go with the flow and enjoy him. Cherish the moments.

Thanks, ladies. I am enjoying every second (except when his crying starts causing tinnitus in my ears - but I try to be stoic about it). And it really is an adventure, with almost every day bringing something new and different. And a child is, even as a newborn, a creative bomb - he'll do something unexpected and different from what you might wish, almost always. Yes, we're talking human being, here!

By the way, he loves peeing while I change his diapers. And today, when we went to the midwife, she took his diapers off and he went - and managed to hit me in the foot even though I was quite a bit away from the "source" (he peed only on me)! At this point I think he just wants to reaffirm the special bond we have.
