I don't want to sound dumb or anything, so don't mind me. I am not up to par with AS lingo, really.

Just what is stimming? In my last week post, a couple of people said that my son's need to fake mental disorders may be some form of stimming. I know the term has been used elsewhere on this site, but I can't really read much given my time is very limited. And my son is way more than a handful.

Any reply would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Robin

Hi there Robin!

"Stimming" is Aspie-slang for anything that could be considered self-stimulatory behaviour. Anything the person finds comforting, basically. Can include movements or repetitive vocal sounds, humming, rocking etc.

Hope this helps.
