Graphic Organizers -- do you think they are effective?

I am really guilty of thinking things like "if we just try this, everything will be better." Of course, that's never the case.

So, tell me -- have you found graphic organizers (such as the type you can find on www.teachervision.com) to be of benefit when you or child needs help with writing papers or reading comprehension when writing book reviews, etc?

Yes, I have found them helpful working with students. They are very good for sequencing the events of a chapter and in organizing ideas for writing. Anything that is visual and is organized with children is good!
