Hi Kay

I haven't noticed any Sydney people posting, that doesn't mean there aren't any.

And any psych I feel comfortable with, you might not, nor your child, but it would be a good place to start I guess. If I was choosing for you I would pick a psych who is willing to tell you stuff you don't want to hear occasionally, but does get along very well with your child. One that sucks up to you and distresses your child won't help.

So from the QLD links page, I got a Victorian Autism links page which is very comprehensive,
http://www.autismvictoria.org.au/links/

which has a link to the NSW autism group.
http://www.aspect.org.au/

I used to work for an IT company called ASPECT which sponsored a yacht for disabled people, how bizarre that the Autism society would pick their name. Then again, maybe the uber-boss (very geeky) is in it.

But if I was in Sydney and I wanted a recommendation, I'd contact the Queensland group, or Tony Attwood or the clinic he started and ask them to recommend a Sydney person. They will know because they would all go to the same study conferences.
Actually Tony's links are good too
http://www.tonyattwood.com.au/ (click on "support groups" on the menu on the left)
more NSW based groups.

I filched this from the Qld forum...phone the clinic and ask them who in Sydney specialises in Aspergers.

Minds and Hearts is a unique clinic specialising in Asperger’s Syndrome and autism. Minds & Hearts was conceived to meet the enormous need for specialist services for people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

Knowledge and understanding about ASD is expanding. However, it is often difficult to find a specialist who is sensitive to the unique needs of the person with ASD.
