kids puzzles

at what age do you suppose kids are able to correctly and completely finish one of those wooden puzzles that essentially tell you where the parts go? You know, the base is cut in the same shape or pattern as the pieces.

My ASD kid was doing them very well at 1 and was completing 24 and 48 piece puzzles in record time at age 2 1/2. In a non-verbal IQ test at age 5 she got a visual spatial score of 130 which explained the puzzle solving ability. My NT kid is 3 years old and does them proficiently. I am not totally sure of the the age she started in months but I was maybe a little before 3 years old and while she does seem to be pretty bright knowing all shapes, colors, alphabet, and some counting, she just doesn't seem to have the innate ability like the other child did/does. It is normal for them to pick up a piece and turn it a couple of times before putting the piece in. My older one would pick a piece up and seems like she automatically knows where it goes. I have also noticed my older ASD kid wouldn't chose one spot and build from that spot she would randomly fit pieces in as she picked them up rather than searching for particular pieces to add. Not sure if this helps or not but this is what I have observed in my own children.
