So, I'm an OT (and a mom of a child with auditory defensiveness, among other things). I'm working with a little boy who has autism and responds really well to vibration. We got him a vibrating oral Jiggler toy, which works great, but he's struggling at daycare. He is almost 3 and non-verbal. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a cost-effective vibrating cushion or something that the daycare could have handy for him as part of his sensory diet? Any other ideas on how to provide similar organizing sensory input?

My son uses an inexpensive hand-held vibrating massager, the kind that are shaped a little bit like animals or bugs. They sell them in walmart and similar stores for less than $10. Are you saying they won't let him use the oral Jiggler toy at daycare?

I bought Dr. Scholl's Soothing 5-Motor Full Cushion Massager from Walgreens (~$ 20).
For us nothing works but it is relatively cheap so you may try.

This "cuddle cub" has worked for us. It vibrates if you hug it. Or, you can set it to vibrate for a full minute or two every time you squeeze it. We found that too much vibration overstimulated my son, but this one works because he can control it. It only vibrates when he's hugging it (when it's set that way). It's only about $20
