We have recently put my son on Vyvanse as he has been diagnosed with ADHD along with going through the evaluation for Autism. His days at school had totally be horrible. We just started the medication on Thursday. Today his teacher said he had the bestest day ever that it was night and day difference to before. I want to be excited and hopeful but have been there before and had the majorly dashed. Does anyone know how long until you see the difference with Vyvanse or if this was just one of those lucky days!!?!?!?! !?!?

People often claim it takes a month for medications to show any affects but it all depends on the individual.

I have been on prozac and citralapalm in the past and both times I felt the benefits kick in the same day, and was actually very high off the both of them, People say I am lying and feeling a placebo but I was really really intoxicated from the both of them.

So in my opinion it is possible it was the meds but maybe just a good day. I've no idea how the medication you mentioned functions in the brain so I cannot say for certain. Just take what I said into consideration when other people offer their opinion.

I don't know about that specific medication but I would keep an eye on him and monitor his behavior. It could just be a lucky day or the meds may actually already be working. It all depends on the person. Also, if the meds work now they may start to wear off in a few months (especially past the 6th month mark) b/c its possible to become addicted and hormones can also affect meds depending on the child's age.

My son briefly took Vyvanse when he was 6.
I took him off of it after three days because it made him incredibly emotional. He usually shakes off moods pretty quickly and when he sobbed uncontrollably for an hour because the news said it was going to rain for the next week, I knew this wasn't my kid.

I really hope it works for yours!
