So I have two voicemails this morning. One clearly was from my son, as there was a whole lot of kids talking in the background but he didn't say a word. The next was from his teacher, asking me to give verbal permission for my son to go on the field trip today and that my son seemed to know nothing about it. Hmmm, I wonder if that's because WE HAD NO NOTICE OF A *&$%# FIELD TRIP??? I raced up to the school, and apparently he did go on the trip with the class, so I am hoping that there wasn't any meltdowns :(

I could just cry. Perhaps I'm being a bit melodramatic, but it just highlights again for me how much this school doesn't understand the importance of dealing with transitions and change with my son. I know, I know, I will try and look on the bright side and see this as a learning experience and hopefully he was successful at it. No sense freaking out if everything goes smoothly right?

I called my hubby at work to see if he recalled any field trip notice and he did not. He did assure me that he would take time off work tomorrow to come to the IEP meeting with me.

I just want this school year to be over. Sorry for the rant just needed to get it out.

How could they take him without a signed permission slip?

I know for certain that our schools would not take anyone without a signed slip. I would inquire with the school on how this happened.

I know, Mama_to_Grace, I've thought about that as well. We will definitely be discussing this tomorrow at the IEP meeting.
