a short little creative writing assignment she did yesterday..
I have no idea the context of the assignment I just get the answers emailed to me each week. LOL But she is a very talented writer at 10.
The night was shrouded in a thick, silvery fog that was almost mist.
Sometimes the wind would blow away a part of the fog and the moon or a tree would be visible for a few seconds.
A soft thud sounded as a silver colored wolf jumped down from a rock.
Her fur was the same color as the fog, and her eyes were perfectly aqua--the rarest eye color among wolves.
The wolf was almost invisible in the foggy night.
Soon she had wandered a little to the north. The fog was so thick that it was impossible to see.
It cleared a bit, and then she saw a lake. The water was still, and silver from the moonlight that shone down on it becuase the fog had cleared.
The fog returned, and she could only see a glimpse of the lake. It was now pure black.
A wolf appeared out of the lake. The other wolf's fur was the same black, but the black wolf was actually transparent.
"Mother?" the silver wolf asked, her vioce shaking.
"Yes, Mist."
"I'm sorry. The hunters wouldn't have found the den if I hadn't barked." Mist whispered.
"No, it was not your fault. It was my destiny." the black wolf said softly to her daughter, Mist.
And then Mist's mother faded into nothing, returning to the Spirit Plains.
