Not literally! Not at all. My son's smart as can be, but doesn't try in school and lots of stuff, and anywaht that doesn't matter, I'm the only one on the spectrum in my family. I'm just tired of things be interpreted wrong, probably on my part.
My oldest daughter, 18, got to open her Christmas present from her uncle tonight. It was a fancy blow dryer with all thaose things on it and it's one of those ionic ones. She was excited. I asked her if I could use it on her hair one day, she said no, but I could use it for myself anytime I wanted. She knows my styling techniques.
My 16yo son said "You can blowdry my hair if you want" I said OK! His hair is curly with a lot of body. It was going to look sooooo gooooood. He normally lets it dry then just brushes it forward. Or puts gel in it and brushes it forward.
Oh no, not tonight. I am 47 years old. I'm extremely familiar with the old blow out styles. I sat him on the toilet and went to work. I blew his hair out to Tony Manero perfection (Saturday Night Fever). I was so proud! He had perfect wings!
He looked in the mirror and yelled MOM - profanity I won't type - then stuck his head under the sink, shook his head, refusing the towel I gave him, and pushed past me and went to bed.
Sometimes, I swear to God I want to I don't know what! I'm not mad, or frustrated, but honestly, what did he expect? I told him from the beginning when I started that he would look like "Kelso" from That 70s Show" and he laughed and said "Make me look like Kelso" Then I did. I mean, it was PERFECT. It was "Hey, don't hit my hair!" perfect. I almost grabbed a can of spray it was so perfect, because of his cut and the curly nature of it. He looked so good with it too. And he got so mad at me, after I spent a good amount of time on his hair.
I know my styles aren't theres, but why can't if I warn them "You'll look like this" they think they will look like something else?
It was PERFECT! Just not for him, I understand.
But it was PERFECT!
