Should thank the Director of my Daughters Preschool
My 4 year old daughter was diagnosed with AS/HFA about 3 months ago. On the diagnoses my daughter was given an aide who only could work mornings which conflicted with our old preschool. So we tried a new preschool which was recommended by the aide's agency which I thought was OK but we were still going to try to get mornings at the old preschool. The reason being my daughter liked the old preschool so we wanted to stay there. Well the New Preschool Director phoned me several times to persuade me to put my daughter in the new preschool. Telling me how much better my daughter would be if she went to the new preschool because the structure would be better for her. Well I did so reluctantly. Well after watching my daughter in her Preschool Christmas Show I am now very happy the Director persuaded me to put my daughter in the school. I can see huge differences from last year in how my daughter performed which is not her strong suit. She was almost NT performing in a 20 minute show of singing and dancing and she did the right things in the appropriate places. She didn't stick out from the other kids like last year. We were very happy with our daughter and I ought to thank the Director for convincing me to put my daughter in the school.
I think what the new school does is have very defined activities which are announced by the teacher singing that they have begun. So my daughter knows exactly what she is supposed to do when the teacher sings a certain song. The class also sings on the way to washroom and other activities so my daughter doesn't get distracted and run away which she occasionally does. This is just a preschool but I worry I won't be able to find as good as Public School for my child when the time comes.
