I just found this out, and wanted to share it, and I thought sharing it with other parents would be the best place to do it. My oldest daughter just finished her first semester in college. She's a culinary arts major, but she also has to take academic courses as well. She took a math, an english, nutrition, and food safety this time. They posted the grades online last night. She got an A in every one and her average is 4.0.

She was so excited when she told me just now. I'm so very happy for her, because grades and doing things right are very important to her. She said "It's like the school gave me a Christmas present!"

She's about to leave for the weekend with her fiance and they are going to do Christmas with his dad in East Alabama, so I won't see her again until Monday, but I'm so very happy that her weekend got a great start like this.

Congratulations!! !! Whoo hooo!! ! :wtg:

I had a similar experience and got a 4.0!

It was the worst semester of my life because of depression, stigma, OCD, and illness....and I still made all A's!

Congratulations to you and your daughter, OliveOilMom, and to you, too, EstherJ! That's great! It's nice when intelligence and effort pays off, and for many of us or our kids, it's a lot more effort than people realize just to get through the day, let alone to succeed so well!
J.

Yaay for your daughter and for you! It's like she gave the school a Christmas present, actually, by being a great student.

That is so cool! I also want to express kudos to your daughter for keeping at the academics, too!
