That was fast.
They did right, but I never would have expected it.
Maybe the world's not so bad after all.

Yeah, it was fast, I think it's because she violated the teachers' vow of silence which in Sweden can give up to a year in prison. So I think this is partly why the school acted swiftly.

Im pretty sure it would not have been handled so well here in the UK! She got off lightly with just losing her job then :)

Happy turn of events:
I had a meeting this morning with the main teacher and with the principal. They were crystal clear about this other teacher's behaviour being inapropriate and actually illegal.
She is out of a job as of today :)

I'm so glad they handled this well.

Thank goodness! I'm not thrilled about anybody losing their job, either - but if she did this IN FRONT of an actively involved parent, imagine what must be happening to kids whose parents don't advocate for them!

Just out of curiosity, what is an "extra teacher"? Is that like an aide to the main teacher? Or a substitute teacher? Or something else?

I wasn´t actually sure what her role was exactly. Apparently she is a substitute teacher that doesn't have any formal teacher training and she has been filling in where needed.

I think she would do better filling in at a workplace where there are no children 8O
