Any of your kids play chess? My son recently started and he LOVES IT!! ! He has several different sets and we have watched you toube vidoes about different strategies, read books at the lib, etc...we even started a homeschool chess club!

Are there any good resources out there that your particular child (or yourself) really liked chess related?

I am trying to really indulge him casue it isnt VIDEO GAME realted interest! WOO HOO!! !

My daughter is in the chess club. I haven't watched her play yet, so I am not sure how she is doing, but she wants to keep going...which is a plus!

Another good thing about chess is it helps them find other "nerdy" kids.

I wish I could get it to replace video games! LOL! :)

I wish it would replace video games too, but I am just glad its somthing that he gets excited about and its NOT video game related.

Well, I actually found a Mario chess set. I debated on buying it for him, but I just cant bring myslef to incorporate vidoe games into his non video game interest. THOUGH when he plays sometimes he calls the pieces by the mario names...cant have it all I guess!

My son really likes chess and is also in the chess club. Although he is only average and has no interest learning any strategy.

My son likes the visual-spatial aspect of the moves, but is not disciplined enough to play a full game or plan out a strategy. I wish he would as I think it might help with some of his issues.

My kid loves chess too! He's in the chess club at school and its helped him a lot on terms of taking turns, strategy, and accepting loss. He has my old iPhone and he uses it to play chess against the computer. He plays against his therapist, too, who told me she really has to work when she plays against him. BTW he's 9.
