Our son is now 17. Freshman year he was starting with a new doctor, and trying a variety of meds. Sophomore year, the meds got figured out, and he was doing great at school and was his normal weight.

He is just finishing up junior year, and this entire year, the meds aren't working (Concerta seems to have lost it's effectiveness). In addition to the meds not working, our son has gained weight. At first I thought it was due to being a gamer, but truth be told, I think it's more related to him having to spend MORE time doing homework because the meds aren't working. Either way, he spends 3/4 of his "free time" (when not at school) working on homework, and the other 1/4 on Xbox to relax after working so hard on homework -- but both are inactive.

BUT, even with that, I think this weight gain is odd when most people I've heard of who are on stimulants fight to keep the weight ON. Have any of you ever GAINED weight while taking stimulants?
