To those who have aspie children in middle and/or high. If bullies and other sociopaths have a slightest clue as to what is your child's condition, they can easily access info about it through the internet and then custom fit their cruel tactics to where your child will fall for them. Kids did and still do this to my son who is now 15. It's mostly about dating. I have a niece who lives with us who has often been asked out as a joke with the expectation that she'd fall for it because my son often does. She's 16 and this horrible boy had what I see as a real relationship with her. Things went too far, they had sex and afterwards she was told that the last 6 months was just a joke. She was heartbroken and wanted an explanation from him. Instead he went to the school authorities and told them she was stalking him. They bought it!! ! (I later learned that this kid's father is a BIG monetary doner to the school football league!) That jerk took advantage of my niece but she ended up apologizing to him!! ! AND was told that she has to accept what happened and move on. I don't know why she had to apologize though!! So, if you're aspie and somebody uses you, you end up apologizing for letting them use your body!! ! They said that she had this relationship in her head. I guess she lost her virginity in her head too!! ! These psycho kids and their parents find this very funny but this sort of thing can TRULY hurt a child even if they say nothing about it. They cognitively accept that they actually ARE a walking, breathing joke and they learn to become a punching bag in very bad relationships later on because their peers hurt them like this. Life just goes on for people who do this to us but we often need a lifetime to heal from their abuse. When people snap out and do horrendous acts of violence, I now often wonder for how many years were they being wound up. The problem is that the wrong people all too often pay the price.

I'm truly sorry your niece had to go through that.

Please remember: aside from what happened with her family, and of course her intimacy with the schmuck, this is all high school crap, and should be thought of as that.

I truly hope your niece will not let it affect her subsequent life. Please note that I hope you don't think I'm trivializing what happened--it's just that it's frequently best if one moves on, rather than dwell on bad things. Learn from the bad things, don't forget the bad things, but don't let it affect the future.

I used to have crap done to me in high school, like most Aspies.

Aspies, of course, are victimized quite often in school settings. We definitely have to practice more vigilance than the average person.

Your niece was the victim of a bully who has figured out he can get away with it.

Someone needs to get proof against him and put a stop to it. You KNOW there are other victims out there.

I don't think it has anything to do with ASD; the boy is just @&~!*(%$&!*@&#$!@

I think I'd march right up to his father and tell him that while he may have covered up his son's bad behavior this time, he might not always be able to, and modern day consequences for these things can ruin someone's life. Either he teaches his son to stop being a bully, or he risks his son ruining his own life beyond repair.

odds are that the bully's father is an even worse bully. I would not directly face him, I would not put violence past him, as he probably knows people on the police force who will protect him the same way he protects his son. tread carefully.
