I apologize for campaigning here but I wrote and am trying to fund the painting of and publishing of a fantasy children's book about autism which will help me, as primary caregiver, work from home as it covers all my supply costs. My 6 yr old son Asher is autistic and he has a unique relationship with his 2 yr old sister Mina that i attempted to embody in a fairy tale. Please take a moment to look and please start a discussion as I know like many parents, siblings and friends of those on the autism spectrum we all want to have our voice heard. My story attempts to simply express the idea that people on the autism spectrum are absolutely 100% present and comprehending everything around them though they are often talked about as if they are not there. I once had a woman at a grocery store tell me, in front of my son how he was getting "better" I suffer from many spectrum related disorders myself and I try to keep cool when people make statements like that as i understand how little we knew of autism just 20yrs ago. My son is not typical but he's not broken and he's not sick. I believe these misconceptions start at a young age and i hope my story helps typically functioning children interact with kids on the autism spectrum. Thank you for reading and please show support. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/10 ... ns-book-on Image
