We'll be travelling extensively again this summer and I'm wondering about kid identification products/methods that anyone has used and can recommend. My son is 4.5, verbal and can answer with his first and last name and give other information (what city he lives in, his parents' names) if someone asks but I'm not confident he would be able to communicate that or much more in a stressful situation- especially with unfamiliar people and people whose first language is not English. He's not really the type to wander far (he has never done so before and usually circles back looking for us if he's gone out of his comfort zone) and he has been a strong swimmer for over a year now. But I still worry, perhaps more now because we have another walking/running child to keep eyes on at the same time.
Anyway- I'm not sure he would tolerate a bracelet, but he might. Maybe something pinned to the outside of the back of his shirt? It would have to be something he can't remove himself, I suppose.
If you use such lost kid/identification products do you include info about your child's autism?
How have you taught your child about what to do if lost?
Thanks...
