Hello,

I am a student in Disability Studies at The University of Toledo, doing a Research Project on the experiences of families with children who have Austism. I was wondering if you would be willing to assist me with my research. I would be very grateful if you would agree to participate in this study. This study is completely voluntary, and your participation will be confidential and anonymous.

If you are interested in participating in this study please send me a private message and from there I will contact you through email, attaching the questions along with a consent form to secure your confidentiality.

Please feel free to forward this email to as many other families that would be interested in participating in this study.

Thank you for considering my request.

Sincerely,

Erin

krex, could I be detecting a slight note of sarcasm.

Emoal6, that is a great idea.

jaleb, avery sound request.

utstudent, Erin, Honey, [I can say that, I'm a 57 year old grandfather], my 10 yr old Aspy son [straight A's in gifted and talented classes] would like to dialog with you here.
Also what part of the Autism spectrum are you looking at? There is as much variety here as in the Nt Spectrum.
I'll pm you later I have to go to work now that the kids are off to school.

Bunni, I'm still trying to figure this Quote thing out.Let's see if I got it right.

Z has learned sarcasm and is getting quite good at it. Also is getting better at understanding how to be "punny". OOPS, no Bunni intended.

hyper_alien, Fraz has it down pat.

sarcasm - essentially it is making a statement but meaning the opposite. It's a fun way to get back at someone who is being mean to you without using a club.

I believe the meaning of sarcasm is...."the tearing of flesh"....,only figuritively(Do aspies understand figuritively,we are so stupid, sometimes I forget what I dont understand until an expert tells me)<----thats sarcasm.

I think alot of people here are alot more criticial of this person then is called for. He is doing a study on families that have kids with autism, not autism itself. I think that is a totally legitmate thing to write about, maybe others are writing or have writen about autism itself. What is wrong with wanting to ask some parents about family experiences?
