The results are normal, so we can rule that out. That's a good thing. Whether it was going to be abnormal or normal was essentially irrelevant to me at the time. It wouldn't have been worse or better, if that makes sense. We just wanted to confirm or dismiss the possibility and adapt learning and various things accordingly if she had shown up with premutations or a full mutation.
We were also very fortunate because the lab informed us that our insurance would not have covered the test, but they were going to cover it. So, it's nice to know it's not always about money and sometimes just about the research itself. On this Thanksgiving day, I'm thankful for that.
