Hi,
Just wondering what services your children are getting and from whom- school district, early intervention, insurance, private, etc.

Please state your child's age, dx if they have one, what country you are in (or state, if you prefer), and you can even asterisk the therapies that you think are doing the most good.

Also, is your child on any meds? Any supplements or special diets that you have seen results with?

Any other pertinent info would be great. Just curious, because of some of the questions asked here, how different the approaches are in different places and how they are working.

I'm sure everybody will be prudent, but this is just a reminder to be cautious about what kind of information we post about ourselves and our kids on a public forum.

That said, my son is two years old. He was displaying heavily autistic symptoms at age 1.5, but with time, sign language, occupational therapy, and language therapy, these symptoms were reduced to mere quirkiness and he no longer qualifies for a diagnosis. The developmental pediatrician does not know why the symptoms arrived nor why they disappeared. There are multiple cases of ADD and undiagnosed AS in the family.

He received the above mentioned therapies through the federal Infant Todder Early Intervention Program. We are located in the northwestern United States.

Gwen, this is mt morning check before school/work so i'll have to get back with you when I have more time.

Briefly , we are in central Virginia and work through county social Services due to financial reasons. Z, now 11 has seen a Psychiatrist since age 4.

His dx is severe ADHD,Asperger's Syndrome, possibly Tourette's Syndrome, "A very complex child" with possibly more to come. He is currently taking four meds, forgive spellings if I screw it up, Adderol, Seroquel, Tenex and Celexa.

School services have depended om how well individual teachers understood his special needs. I''l have to be more detailed later if you want, let me know.

eight-year old diagnosed with mild pdd-nos with AS characteristics last Feb.

Receives support minimally in the classroom. He is 100% mainstreamed. He has an IEP that addresses his issues concerning attention and other symptoms related to ASD.

He takes a one-a-day vitamin and has never had any medications.

He is high functioning, quirky but keeps up academically.

We live in the Northeast.
