I was wondering if you guys have any ideas what the Aspergers society could do for funding or getting in contact with various foundations in the US and Canada (and perhaps elsewhere).

I'm trying to find what would be good places to go to look for funds and whatnot, and also if anyone has any ideas post them here.

Aspergers are humanities only hope. WE have the brains. WE have the power. WE can understand our special intrest 150%. think about it 24/7. think of ideas that makes an NTs mouth drop. the only thing stopping us is a misunderstanding world. The more the world will understand us, the more we can do for the world. do you disagree? I know a few friends who's special intrest is computers etc. he has a computer system build by BROKEN computers, which is strong enough for a big company.

Many of us have been tryng to adapt their weak points, their disabilities as some call it to fit into an NT world. but maybe an NT world should give us a chance to let those " disabilities" be disabilities. to let us do what we are good at. wouldn't you want to spend days with your special intrest? let's say your special intrest is airplanes. developing them. but you are bad at setting the development on paper. so you never get higher then assisting. This is a waste of a huge talent. And it happens to many, many, MANY people with Asperger.

You all have talents. you all have the abiliites to do so much good in this world. Asperger is a gift. A GIFT. but the NT world is ignoring it's good sides.

Doesn't the world need a second oppinion?
Doesn't the world want more?

People in war zones, in under developed countries are dieing. our biggest brains are working on solutions for that. but the biggest brains are right here, on wrongplanet, reading this right now. it's like the world is letting race cars guides a tanker trough the water. what can we do agaisnt this? how can we make the world wake up? idk but im desperatly searching for an answer

Are you incorporated as a nonprofit? That makes a huge difference

I'm not certain if they are, but I will ask, or you can ask them (here's the email), I don't run it personally, I've recently talked with the people that run it and they asked if I could do some research, so I'm bouncing ideas off people (the more the merrier!)

From aspergers.ca

Yes they are incorporated and registered as a Canadian charity. This means that they can issue tax receipts for donations and are exempt from paying certain other taxes like GST.

Our registered charity number is 86674 9690 0001

If the money goes towards educationg people about autism and such workshops that will teach people about the strenths that we have, as well as the weaknesses, I'd have no problem with helping out.
