Hello parents, as you may know most people who are a aspie have very narrow interests which usually either goes into the catagory of computers, scientists,engineering and of course video games. So here are a list of free games that I have found that I think your child may like and will help your child with education (math, history) and even help reduce stress, anxiety, etc. some of them you have to have a good isp, dsl or cable and some good for dial up. But if you have a pretty good internet connection then games may help with the stress/anxiety and keep your child entertained.

Dial Up games
Ogame space simulation web based game (good for dial up)

Human Age(dial up)(web based)
Do you want to know how history can be fun? Do you want to learn how to hunt the biggest animals the world has ever seen?

Human age is a simulation game / free virtual management game / rpg where you adopt a human being and help him or her through various ages of mankind, from prehistory to the 21st century, from learning how to use a club to your driver's license.

Luckily, with the help of your wolf, family and friends, your life is much more than just work, it's a real game. But before you can become the king of France in medieval times or a pharaoh, you will be a caveman or woman and hunt dinosaurs.

If 10'000 years of history and mayhem don't scare you, register now and join the 16'126 players who are already rewriting history!

warpfire web based and space game, good for dial up. Fun too. Ages not sure but others seem nice.

Industry Tycoon(web based and dial up) A economic/industry game. only bad thing about this game is that the server is rebooted after like a week or 2 and then after to start over. so what you build you dont keep... (Ages 14+

DSL/Cable/Wireless connection

Conquer Online

Conquer Online is a Massive Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game set in mythological China. This Game does get kind of old doing the same thing over and over. And people are known to quit and play another for for like 3 months to a year) and then come back. Also the ages that play this game is like between 9-70 yrs old. However there is alot of profanity and insulting in this game, So i strongly suggest that your child is at least 16 yrs old to play.

Metin 2

Metin2 leads you into an eastern fantasy world. Become a master of martial arts and fight as ally of the Dragon God against the dark influence of the Metin Stones, which are poisoning the land. Fight in wild battles for one of the three empires, conquer their land and possessions or reunite them and become the new Emperor of the land. Your destiny is in your hands! This game is fun just started playing it like like 4 days and probably will play it for a while. Good game for the Ages of 14+

Actually Leisure Suit Larry 2 is quite suitable for younger people.

I remember being sad about it because nothing ever happens. (not like Larry 1 and 3).

well i have all the leisure suit larry games on cd, of course i cant seem to be able to install it on windows xp. But if i'm not mistaking alot of them have adult content (sex material in it) Maybe Leisure suit larry 2 is ok, which one is that about? But i wouldnt suggest it unless your 14 or 16 yrs old or above.

LSL2 is the one where he walks around town, goes to perfect match, wins a cruise, accidentally sinks the boat, uses a liferaft to get to an island, goes through the jungle and finds civilization.

It's the only one of the LSLs which wasn't concerned with sex.

RE: Getting old games to run - particularly old Sierra Games;

Two ways;

1. DosBox (http://www.dosbox.com/)
This is very very good and will run most games directly under windows xp. It's a better, more compatible and more configurable DOS than the one that ships with XP.

2. FreeSCI (http://freesci.linuxgames.com/)
This is for the Sierra SCI Games, like Leisure Suit Larry 2, Leisure Suit Larry 3, Police Quest 2, King's Quest 4, Hero's Quest / Quest for Glory 1, Space Quest 3, The Colonel's Bequest, Conquests of Camelot, Codename: Iceman, Hoyle's Book of Games, Hoyle's Book of Games 2

3. For LucasArts Games (http://www.scummvm.org/)
You can get a Scumm interpreter that runs under Windows XP (and on other systems too). So if you have games like these, you can copy the data files from the CDs and run them with the new scumm
LucasArts: Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Loom, Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, Sam & Max Hit the Road, The Curse of Monkey Island, The Dig, The Secret of Monkey Island, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders
Sierra: Donald Duck's Playground, Gold Rush!, King's Quest: Quest for the Crown, King's Quest II: Romancing the Throne, King's Quest III: To Heir Is Human, King's Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella, Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, Manhunter: New York, Manhunter 2: San Francisco, Mixed-Up Mother Goose, Police Quest: In Pursuit of the Death Angel, Space Quest: The Sarien Encounter, Space Quest II: Vohaul's Revenge, The Black Cauldron
Other Game Artists: Beneath a Steel Sky, Broken Sword and Broken Sword II, Bargon Attack, Elvira, Elvira 2, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Future Wars, Gobliiins, Gobliins 2: The Prince Buffoon, Goblins Quest 3, I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream, Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb, Lure of the Temptress, Mickey's Space Adventure, Nippon Safes, Inc., Simon the Sorcerer, Simon the Sorcerer II and Simon the Sorcerer Puzzle Pack, The Feeble Files, The Legend of Kyrandia, Touché: The Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer, Troll's Tale, Waxworks (a.k.a. Elvira 3)
