... a child psychologist for my 7 yr old AS son, preferably in the Waikato or Auckland region? I am finding that the public hospital system and RTLB are pretty much more into monitoring and I am wondering if we would make more progress by going private with a psychologist or similar. I have heard of some people who have found this a big help, but don't know where to start with names of good practicioners. Any feedback would be most helpful. Thanks.

All I can reccomend is the Child and Adolecent health center in Tauranga, thats where i went. I don't know if its still there though :X

Autism New Zealand may be able to help you with this - they might know the name of psychologists who can understand aspergers. Maybe try this site.
