Does your child ever decide s/he will or will not eat something based on a time frame?

i will quote my son to explain:

i want pepperoni pizza not cheese because I am 4 2/3. (he used to only eat plain cheese pizza)
or
i like blueberries in July for $5.98 but not in August for $4.98
or
i will eat ??? when i am an odd number age but not an even number age.

He's a number kid!! YAY!
My son used to explain all kinds of stuff with numbers like this, because he just loves numbers.
(He said they were his "friends". He could say "You are very much like a number 4" He played with numbers all the time.)

My son is also good with calenders - date predicting, leap years ect. and finds calenders fun and easy.

They're were lots of number rules with my son because they were really satisfying to him. Rules are satisfying. Dates are satisfying. Numbers are satisying. Put them together abd WHAT BLISS :)

haven't dealt with this here, but i do remember growing up with a girl who went through a color phase. for a while she would only eat foods that were white.....i thought this was strange, but what really confused me was that i went to her house a month later & all she would eat was foods that were red.......

I won't eat certain things after a certain time of day.

As a child, I sometimes went through phases where I had to eat foods of a certain color before others.

Mostly I'm a texture issue person though.

My son has never revealed a master plan for his food preferences. He usually will eat something and then all of a sudden decide that that food has been defiled and he can't eat it. We had a favorite restaurant for over a year here in town and all of a sudden he complained that there was "red stuff" in his beans. He won't eat there now. He's eaten cheese and then stopped if the package looks different (or a different size even!)
When he was really little and didn't have that good sense of smell, I could put his food in fast food packaging to say it was "from Boston Market". Can't do that anymore.
