My daughter had one of those poos that was everywhere in her diaper including in her vaginal folds and orifice. Will it come out or will I have to clean up in there? Poo can be nasty stuff and I'm guessing it's not good to have it up in there.

I'm guessing you'll have to clean it up! (Have boys, so I'm no expert.) Could give her a bath, too.

It is very important that it's completely cleaned out or it can cause infection. Your best bet is a baby bath. I don't think you have "go up" anywhere just soak her and clean front to back.

Best way is to start with baby wipes, and then follow with a nice, soapy bath.

give her a bath really well down there. the poop in the pee area can also put her at high risk for urinary tract infections due to the closeness of vagina to the urethra (pee hole) if she appears in pain or cries while peeing or pooping, call doctor/pediatrician.

good luck

a bath, you say?

:P

Yup. I called the pediatrician's office and they beat you to the punch. They suggest the same thing. Wash really well but gently down there.

gawd, she hates bath time.

I am so sorry, but when I read this, I just laughed and laughed.

Awesome subject line to begin with, but after 2 sons, I had a daughter and I remember the first time she pooped like that. My brain exploded into, "ACK! IT'S A VA-JAY! WHAT DO I DO?!"

Now this shouldn't happen, being that I have one of my own, but after 2 boys and just minor surface wiping, I panicked.

I'm glad you got it figured out.

:D

One of the joys of parenthood, I use to spray my daughter off in the kitchen sink, with the hand sprayer. it was why quicker, is safer then using a q-tip on a wiggly baby. wait until your babys diet is changing to more soilds, they can get impacted poo balls, that is really scary

Me too!

Sounds like you've got all the good advice you need.

I have 3 sons so don't know about girls.

However we had a nick-name for their big poos .... 'nut-crackers'. This is when the poo exploded round their nuts and penis.

I don't miss having my kids in nappies!

Helen

My little nephews would get it in there bellybuttons, it was all over the place

I've just had to re-post this in my name. My son was logged in and I posted in his name by accident

Hmm; this reminds me of how in France in some book this family was moving into this new home, and this guy was taking them on a tour of it, and the mother saw the bidet and asked, "What's that? Is it for washing the baby in?" "No, ma'am. It's for washing the baby out."

Okay, I'm sure this post wasn't supposed to be rib-splittingly funny...but it was.

LOL about the Nut-crackers! Hahahahaha! My little boy is 5 months old and BOY, he's presented us with a few of those as well! LOL!
