Yeah, possibly. He did have a special interest, and seemed distant towards his wife, at times. Then again, the wife had issues, too. I think that the juxtaposition was meant more to portray an upper class American family that seemed content on the outside, but had issues that revealed themselves behind closed doors. Perhaps it was Reitman's way of saying that money cannot buy happiness.

I was referring to the father of baby (young boy) not the married couple.

As for the couple--he didn't want the baby or the marriage anymore that's why there was that strangeness between the two and the nervousness of wife who might have suspected her husband wanted to leave but was in denial herself because she wanted so much to have a happy, normal family.

The boyfriend and girlfriend (pregnant) seemed so unaffected and able to disconnect in a logical way from the pregnancy. She was verbose and witty and he was aloof even in the way he said "can I kiss you now"--maybe just him.

Oh, well just an observation.

D'oh. Now that you mention it, Paulie seems so much more AS than Mark. Distant, passive, awkward, the works. Juno basically had to guide him. I guess I didn't consider him at first since he does not appear often in the movie. Good observation.

I thought Juno might have been an Aspie. She is in some ways eccentric, and observant in a way that maybe she cannot tune anything out.

But she also has a special interest in her music.

Honestly, I think I saw myself in her a little.

I love this film! I think it is the ultimate pro-choice movie, Juno knew that she wasn't ready for a baby and goes a abortion, but changes her mind and decided to give it to someone. The actress Ellen Page found it odd that people where calling it a pro-life film seeing as her character made many choices in the film.

Just watched it last night, really liked it and wish all parents were that supportive, would't that be nice?
The shennanigans line made me laugh also. It's so true!
As for anyone being AS/HFA I see it in everyone now but I think its just wishful thinking on my part. (Trying to even out our odds a little)

reika, so good to read that there are other people who see Asperger's in everyone. My family rolls their eyes every time I mention that I think so and so has Asperger's . . .
