Yeah!
I look back at my son's progress and it seems like most of the time he simply "gets" things when he is ready to, and all the prodding in the world from me makes zero difference. Not to say we don't need to supply the information - it's not like they figure it out completely on their own - but to say the timing really doesn't seem to be something we have the slightest control over.
I do love those pleasant surprises. Just when you give up, is when they tend to crop up.
