Question for parents of Aspies
I read your story and this is what I thought. Parents are only human, we make mistakes too. We try to raise our kids as best we can and hope we don't screw them up. Just from personal experience, it can be really annoying when your kid is talking and talking and talking and you have no idea what they are talking about(like I said only human, lol). Some parents don't want to accept that their child may be different, but you are who you are. You have every right to be nervous about your assesment, that is perfectly natural. Maybe your mother is worried too and doesn't want you to see how worried she is? Is it the end of the world if you do have it?? NO!! ! You are the same person you were yesterday. You sound like a really great person, this just makes you a little more special. My son Liam is 9 and is an aspie. He was assessed when he was 5. He is a great kid, sometimes annoying, sometimes really sweet, and sometimes super angry. But he is always my son and I love him with all of my heart. You have to take life day by day, sometimes hour by hour, and every now and then minute by minute.
