I've just put a post up at my blog about the tools we use to go out and about with Heidi, our 3yo who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (high functioning) and also Sensory Processing Disorder (as part of the whole Autism package, lucky kid).

Going out and about with ASD and SPD

Would love some feedback on what tools other families use. We are always looking to improve and build on what we have to continue making future outings successful.

Cheers
Marita

sounds like a good list.........for us, it's been important to include bottled water- this way there's no searching for a water fountain. ........we also include fidgets that they can keep in their pockets. hubby likes to keep small metal tools in his pockets- son keeps rocks- daughter still hasn't found any specific item.

Water, that is a good point. Not been such an issue over the cooler months but now that summer is here I have to remember to add the water bottle to my bag when we go out.
