My 4 year old got a leapfrog Tag Web Page Name for Christmas. It's a pen that comes with a book and if you put the pen part down on one of their books it tells you the word you are pointing to, or makes noises or plays games depending on what you are pointing at.

Well, he sat down beside the 9 year old and must have had a well, i wonder moment. He pokes the 9 year old with the pen to see what sound the pen would make. haha

The 9 year old: "NO J, that is not a TOY! It is saving the progress of your BRAIN!." The 4 year old Just looked at his pen wide-eyed for a couple seconds then went back to his book.

I had told the other children that he had a profile on it and it was keeping track of the things he was doing so they couldn't play with his pen right now, not until he was finished and I changed to a new profile. I just started cracking up. :D

I am imaging how your 4 year old interpreted that in his brain, lol. Is he AS? Imagine taking that phrase totally LITERALLY.

Um, you may need to do some clarifying with the child, but it IS funny.

Aren't all 4 year olds literal?

I am sure any 4 year old would think the pen saves the process of their brain because that's what they were told.

My mother took the boys (I have 4) to get their hair cut. The guy goes to put the apron thing over the baby (2) and it is decorated with winning poker hands so it has cards all over it.

9 year old: "Oooooh, grandma, he knows MAGIC!! Watch, brother is going to disappear!"

hehe, all 4 came back, so I guess his trick didn't work out too well.

Was having an off day a couple weeks ago, my 4 year old can just get in the mood to argue, no matter how true his point is... or not true. Well, he had one of those days, the baby was grumpy and tired and finally lied down for a nap. I let the 4 year old play on the other computer and after a couple minutes he turns to me and says: "Mommy, I'm sorry I was so grumpy today." I got teary eyed. I told him that "I was probably a bit grumpy too. I'm sorry, too." Him: "Yes, you were." haha. day got better after that, but out of nowhere he apologized for being grumpy, gotta love them.
