I actually liked the 5th gen pokemon.

The first gen is my favourite for nostalgia reasons.

I don't like the 4th gen as much.

I'm the odd one because gen 4 was one of my favorites and its widely disliked or met with "meh". Though its really hard for me to think up a pokemon generation I don't like, the advance games get the most unnecessary flak in my opinion. Its really hard for me to rate the games. Gen 1 has the most nostalgia for me and I like equal things about the other games, I probably like Gen 2 the least out of most people. I played and imported it, I was so excited and the game totally blew my mind and it had the most brilliant music too. Breeding was kind of weird though and Gamefreak did a better job balancing things out with each subsequent game.

The new Pokemon suck. They're running out of ideas to make new ones, and the whole series is just dragging on and on.

Just my opinion, though.

I like (most) of the new pokemon? The only thing I openly dislike is how many legendaries and event stuff we get no. I think they're mostly boring, but the genie trio strikes me as the coolest outside of the birds from RBY. I think there's plenty they could do, I've clamored for a hydra for YEARS and finally BW gave me that. I'd love a dolphin or squid, they could be water/psychic and water/dark. Please no more evolutions for old 'mons though. That was the lamest part about gen 4, most of the new evo's were pretty lame. I liked Magnezone and Togekiss though.

There are series that have dragged on much longer and gone done a rapid decline, namely Final Fantasy. I think pokemon has aged pretty well and its gameplay still holds up.

I only enjoyed the pokemon where I eventually didn't have to do much work to up the pokemon.

Seriously. There's a trash bag Pokemon.

You just know when they're trying too hard.

I haven't played any of the games since generation three. They obviously have to add new content, but looking at it now it just seems too over-complicated and there's way too much going on.

Psh the trash bag is nothing compared to the ice cream one. How can it even survive during summer?

I think that was the point thewrll.

A trashbag is no worse than say a Mime, or a pokemon that has punching gloves for hands.

I honestly feel like a lot of the first gen pokemon were very basic and unoriginal. Don't get me wrong, the first gen is the best of the 5 gens but I love that gen 5 got creative with the new pokemon.

I actually agree, Gen 1 was very basic in just about everything. People just rose tinted glasses on it because it was the first generation.

In my opinion Gen 3 had the best villians that you encounter.

I really liked the basicness about it. If things get too complex it gets a bit hard on the eyes.
