I like playing shooters for the multiplayer experience. Team Deathmatch (or any team-based game mode) is nice because I like how it's more about finding a way to contribute, to become an essential part of the group.

If there's a game I REALLY like, then I'll go multi, otherwise I go single.

I prefer single player and play alone most of the time, but occasionally playing online for hooooours (can't get myself to stop playing) can be a lot of fun too.

I would love to play multiplayer if the majority of people I ran into weren't complete jerks! Whether it was blatantly cheating, acting like a spoiled 12 year old, intentionally taking on a new opponent to rack up free wins, going on racist tirades that would make Hitler blush or using almost exclusively four letter words you have to wonder if any of these young 'adults' have parents at all. In some cases you can hear older adults in the background but they don't seem to mind this kind of talk. I know my Mother would pull the headset off my head and snap it in two if I spoke to another person in such a matter even as an independent adult who lives on his own!

I did have a very pleasant game once with a guy once when I first tried online gaming and we had a nice conversation during the game. He was competitive but fair and respectful and understood I was new and explained etiquette to me. If most gamers were like him, online gaming would be my new special interest!

You would like Natural selection 2, it relies on teamwork more than any other shooter.

I don't like being watched or playing with others. That said, if I kill a really difficult boss or something that sorta gives me a "High" due to the challenge, I wouldn't mind somebody seeing that and being impressed. Another exception would be if I had a girlfriend (once I'm stable, which I'm definitely not atm). I think it'd be cool to play with that special person I've developed a really tightknit bond with, considering that I don't like to "let people in", as it were. Of course, that extends to a lot of activities when you're in love, methinks.

I avoid multiplayer most of the time. I'll do fighting games, I play those quite alot.... but most other things, I dont bother with. In particular, I dont like team-based games. Having to rely on others is irritating, and being expected to follow commands is even more irritating. And I just prefer the challenge of doing everything myself. Taking out a horde of enemies is way more satisfying if I did it on my own, rather than with a team.

I will do MMOs though, but I do tend to solo more frequently than most players.

I used to love playing games like Halo CE/2 alone for hundreds of hours just in the singleplayer~
But after seeing how fun it is to play with friends while on voice chat I just saw no point in playing alone.
I still sometimes play alone in big sessions, but often I just don't find fun playing alone.
Sadly I don't know anyone who is interested in playing the same games as me, so I'm stuck with raiding on WoW T__T

I mainly prefer rolling solo when gaming. There's only two instances where I will play with others: the first is during hangout sessions with a bunch of my friends. The other instance is when I'm at an arcade, because when it comes to fighting games, I much prefer arcades over online multiplayer. I find that the people there are generally have a lot more technical skill, and most of the time they don't act like utter f*****g jackasses... as opposed to online multiplayer, where I always switch off player audio whenever possible.

I prefer playing video games on my own, never been a fan of multiplayer games. The only game I enjoy playing with a group of people is super smash brothers and mario kart.

x2, I don't know the random people I play with though, unless I'm playing online with my brother.

I play by myself unless I have somebody in person. I don't like online multi, only local, and it's sad how reduced local multiplayer has become *pokes Sonic Generation as a PRIME EXAMPLE*

This is me, both because and not because of me.

Because I like it so much, but it's not my fault I can't find other people to play with me.

I would play co-op in a heartbeat with someone nice, but it's surprisingly hard to find a
place that has Europe players. For example it's impossible to find European players in Reddit that are
fun and kind. Every time I find someone their play style is just to rush the games and that makes me feel
like I'm not even playing with them.

don't have many peeps to play games with and I don't like the idea of playing games with complete strangers, although I will eventually try it when COD4 comes through the post.

Loner, if I want to interact with others I will do so at the office. Video gaming is about getting away from the dangerous, savage, child race homo sapiens.
