I love co op games, but I usually only play with people I know, and I don't own a headset. Most multiplayer nowadays seems focused on PVP, in games like COD ect rather than good co op games.

As far as single player games go, I tend to feel less immersed in them if someone is watching me, because it puts me off a lot. I'd rather be playing completely on my own when I play single player games.

I don't play MMO games either since I stopped playing runescape.

I find it depends on the game.

Some games are more fun to play in a MMO or multiplayer environment, others are better to do solo.

I hate playing with other people, when they want me to do things i don't want to do, so that's why i hate games like LOL. Coop is better.
But playing alone is what i really like.

I like online and multiplayer a lot though it depends on the game. Celebrating 130,000 kills on custom servers today on ut3 yay.
cod multiplayer is a shambles.

Co-op against bots perhaps? I find the community quite nice actually; you just have to know your characters' niche role(s).

I will play multiplayer against people if I know I am playing against them. If someone walks up behind me when I am playing and distracts me I start to mess up though especially in Gan Turismo even in single player.

Ive been playing online a long time, and used to enjoy it years ago in a clan for a popular fps game. A certain degree of the group were quite smart and would always be in the right places at the right times.
Also as we played together alot, we got a feel for who was good with what gun etc - but hardly spoke at all to each other. There was usualy alot of other chatter going on so we couldnt do tactics if we wanted too.

Lately ive been on BF3 alot, and really miss having a silent partner or two that could actually play, didnt NEED my help, but was smart enough to know what was going down and could head for certain areas with guns and setups they had come up with, that worked for them.

I prefer single player games. I'm not the best player on the scene, so I always lose on versus and MMOs...those people can be real noobs and treat you like you can't play when you're doing your best. All in all the single player is best, because I can more easily get into the story.

Being a lonely gamer, to me is good in some aspects; I tend to use gaming as a motivation tool.

I play mostly single-player games, and I agree that it's a shame many modern games forgo a decent single-player campaign for robust online multiplayer (*cough*L4D*cough*). Honestly, I prefer local multiplayer if I do play with others (like Mario Kart). The only time I've ever loved online play was Star Wars Battlefront & Jump Ultimate Stars.

I've never been able to get in touch with someone with the same tastes in video games as mine, so I've played very little online. I've done some Starcraft 2, Quake Live and Team Fortress 2, but there's too many a--holes out there that ruin the game for me. I've played some WoW too, but I don't like many aspects of the game.
I'd probably stick with crpg's like Fallout or Planescape - Torment anyway.

I agree 100%- no one ruins a game better than a thoughtlessly-crazed jerk with an op-ed weapon..

I'm a lone wolf in most games. The requirements to be in a guild/corp/etc are just too annoying. Its like office drama mixed with high school level angst.

However, I do prefer to play in a random with random people. Many times my best game buddies are found there and I end up grouping with them often.

I have been playing PES for a while, i hate it, it is so maddening!. i just want to go directly and score the goal, that doesn't work.
Playing quietly passing the ball strategically, always shoot and never goal. Damn it!
Played the tutorial to learn, i do exactly what it says, and doesn't work!!
I cant just play games like that.
I remember counter strike, team game, but still you can do very well without making a plan or something, just killing and stuff, that was very fun to play.

I'm a lone gamer, primarily because most people aren't online when I am. I'd play some games with others, depending on the game.

honestly, i don't have experience in online gaming on game systems. i prefer to play by myself because im less distracted and i have no pressure of people watching me play. if its company or if im at someone elses house, then i dont mind. i do not like the idea of verbally talking to someone online while playing a game.
