Anybody else think Zelda: Skyward Sword is a gimmicky piece of shtako? I seriously can't even force myself to finish it I hate it so much ( ONLY Zelda game I haven't beaten )

The motion controls never work right, and they're exhausting
The remote has to be re-centered every few minutes
The game is quite linear with no real sense of exploration
World feels emptier than the original NES Zelda
Fi is Captain Obvious and never feels helpful
Feels like you just jump between 3 massive dungeons ad nauseam
Having both a bow and a slingshot feels redundant and unnecessary ( unless like in OOT )
Whip is crap, Gust Bellows is Minish Cap's Gust Jar but less useful, Beetle was meh
Worst minigames in the franchise
Fighting the same bosses repeatedly is lazy game design
Not much variety in basic enemies either...
Zelda should never involve stealth. Seriously, I play Zelda to explore & stab monsters in the face not sneak around...
FFS enough with the tear collecting crap Nintendo. It's not fun, it's just lame boring padding.
Silent Realm bits are among the worst ideas in Zelda history ( though they're still way better than the CDi games )
Stamina meter & sprinting: good ideas, not quite done right.
Most upgrades are pointless/useless
Breakable shields are a cheap way to make the game "harder" ( by which I mean more frustrating )

All that said, I did enjoy the characters, story, art style and especially the music ( no matter how much I like or hate a particular Nintendo game, I always love the music )

I used to live in a city where you could take video games out at the library. Took out Skyward Sword one day. Didn't even really play it. Graphically, at least at the start just looked absolutely horrible, and I found Link kind of hard to control. Or at least I didn't like how the controls responded for him at all. With my limited experience with it, it seemed like a huge step back from Twilight Princess.

I still want to give the game another go at some point cause I saw a lot of great youtube reviews, but I dunno about it.

I have no problem with Skyward Sword's control system, but I don't think I'd want it to be permanent for future zelda games. At the very least there should be an option to use motion or not.

Quite frankly, the motion controls for skyward sword are the best I've seen for Wii, highly accurate and easy to keep aligned. I played through it, beat it, and was hoping for more material afterward.

I liked it.

I was kind of disappointed that it didn't have an overworld, but I'm looking forward to trying out hard mode sometime.

I don't think motion controls were the issue, but more that they forced the Motionplus into the game, rather than polishing other areas of the game. In my opinion still a turd, but polish nonetheless.

Twilight Princess took controls pretty nicely, but if it wasn't for Nintendo's clear fear of traditional traditions, I would have enjoyed an option to play with traditional controls.

Play the Gamecube version. Not only does that have traditional controls ( if you only have a Wii you will also need a Gamecube controller and a Gamecube memory card ), but Link is left handed as he was always meant to be!

I'm loving it so far! I'm not having control hiccoughs like I've been hearing about from a lot of people, but I find Link's sword doesn't always move in synchronicity with the Wii Remote... I feel like I'm doing it wrong...

I like Zelda:Skyward Sword, and I think the motion controls work very well. However, the graphics aren't as good as Zelda:Wind Waker for Gamecube which is a much older game.

To be a bit more clear, I felt that the motion controls flowed well enough in Twilight Princess.
