At the very moment, I'm skating through "Ninja Gaiden ∑ 2" on Warrior to get my bearings back on how to play. Interestingly enough, I seem to be picking up a lot more tricks and strategies than I'd ever known about playing the game in the past. I'm thinking to go back and try my hand at Master Ninja again, but I've not played in years, so I know jumping straight into MN would be... far from ideal.
I would normally think to practice on Mentor next, but it's far from representative of the enemy set in MN. Mentor, once you know how to stay in motion, is also no more difficult than Warrior if not easier outside Rachel and Ayane's missions which the enemy sets remain unaltered and representative of MN difficulty... so I can only imagine how pitiful they'll actually play on MN. I may or may not do Mentor next to practice dodging the volleys of rockets.
I also never realized just how important weapon switching was in the past... I always stuck with the dragon sword because it provides the most evasive move set, but it seems each boss has a bane, though a fair few are weakest to the lunar staff(I've not yet encountered a boss that's weak to the Dragon Sword and am on chapter 10), I've ended up finding some are weakest to weapons that make little sense. So, I've been using this time on Warrior to switch weapons out until I find the one that really nicks into the grain of each boss' armor while refraining from using Enma's Fang(useless on MN), or Ninpo(also useless offensively on MN outside defensively providing crucial moments of invulnerability). Also, timed counter attacks toward human sized enemies with the Falcon's Talons... I don't ever see those getting old.
