same here. :)

other then that does anyone know if ralof shows up at the battle for solitude, because seeing that he is a dedicated stormcloak and seemed eager to march on solitude.

but he never showed up...

i feel like he's my brother in arms i was hoping he'd show then we'd get revenge for nearly getting executed. i hope he wasn't killed off, i've grown attached to him, he was the only solider with a sense of humor.

does he wind up somewhere after the battle? i was hoping i could do some console hacking or something to make him a follower if it is possible, i know i can just shove his base id in there and respawn him. but it's driving me crazy that he didn't show up for the battle, does it have something to do with my khajiit follower i had or what, it seems like he vanished off the face of skyrim.

i'm a stormcloak for life, or at least on my nord character. i don't like the legion much, really because they do whatever the high elves tell them to do. they turned their back on talos who was not only a hero to the nords but the one who built the empire which the legion comes from. no wonder the nords are pissed.

course i haven't played anything before oblivion, and i haven't even finished oblivion yet.

Oops, I didn't mean your video card, I meant mine - but mine looks fairly good in-game.

The main reason I'd join the Legion is I like Michael Hogan as a voice actor. Given that the Legion was about to behead me, there's not a lot of loyalty there, however.

I don't think it's as simple as doing whatever the Thalmor tells them to do. At first Titus Mede II refused Thalmor demands. It was only after exhausting the Empire's military expelling the Thalmor army from Cyrodiil that he finally agreed to their demands in exchange for peace. I suspect that banning Talos isn't any more popular in the Legion than it is anywhere else, although they have admittedly not yet rebelled.

And all the Thalmor are doing is eliminating Talos as a god so they can eliminate humanity and mortality as a possibility, thus opening the way to return to a mythic time during which all are immortal.

i don't know any voice actors, i more or less tie the voice to the character, removing the human element, i also tend to take my games a bit seriously. i had a feeling they were corrupt, it's hard not to notice that. but i don't even like that the legion is even working with them. they are misserable to be around always talking down to everyone, i can't stand people like that and it seems all of them are like that, haven't found a nice one yet.

but i thought that it would have been weird to escape with ralof and then stab him in the back and join his enemies, ^^; basicly i join the group of whoever i escape with, ralof = stormcloaks, hadvar = legion.

you can kill those elves in the dark brotherhood sweet! i've been reluctent to do their quests because i was sure all the other groups i was a part of would want me dead because they are evil. the other groups aren't saints by any means but i'm sure they wouldn't like me becoming one of the dark brotherhood. :)

The main target of the Dark Brotherhood questline = imperials.
I am not bothering with the stormcloaks on the current character due to incriminating evidence against them.
In terms of roleplaying, which is my playstyle. The Completion of the dark brotherhood questline causes enough chaos that the general populace wont notice the death of elves.

Yeah, I think that while they may have this high-minded "dissolve the mundus so we can all be immortal and as gods again" I think on a more practical level, you're right.

sounds like fun, i don't care if the cities know what i am doing i want to kill them because i can't stand people that talk down to you. more of a personal revenge thing mostly cause i run into jerks like that all the time on the net. i think it affects me more then most, because i don't understand why people try to solve problems thinking emotionally. solving problems based on how you feel is stupid. heck when you are sleep deprived the logical side shuts down first, after that you are a basket case till you get rest.

anyway sleep deprived right now, so i'm not sure if i am making any sense at all.

so the dark brotherhood don't like the imperials, that will work for me, i'm stormcloak so i am already killing imperials. i might remake my redguard that i made when i first got the ps3 version. he'll be on the legion side. i'm not sure what to spec him into dual wield berserker warrior, tank, or two hand warrior, no matter what he's going to be a warrior.

anyway i have a hacked follower, couldn't find ralof, i think he was suppose to be on my team but i had the khajiit and his code screwed up and he vanished, i hacked him back into the game as a follower and most of his dialogue sounds like he's still in the solitude attack. so i'm guessing he glitched. :), at least he doesn't die in two hits from the enemy.

i love the console, that and mods are the only perks to a pc version. and both make a game unstable.

also i shot mai'ig the khajiit guy, from across the bridge he looked like a goat, got him in the leg at a kinda sniper range, got a level too. i have to admit that was the best shot i've ever made with a bow. poor khajiit guy, i felt bad afterwords and healed him up. he said something about it being dangerous to be around me. i thought that was fitting. :P

some lady spawned in the air and fell to her death in markath, and i am offically moving to windhelm bought a new house there, it's much bigger, has an enchanting table and an armory, old one in whiterun only had achemy table, till i got a mod at least, but it is very cramped, new one is more open. now i just got to figure out the best way to transfer my stuff, might take a couple trips. i got a lot of stuff.

Yes, I've got it for PC and I've been having a blast with it since Tuesday of last week. Had to get a new video card though, it was chopping kinda bad previously.

Some details:

lvl 25 Orc (Mr. Ed), he's....hmm....lvl 86 I think on two-handed weapon, I kept armor as light and efficient as I could, his mage skills are focused right now on destruction and conjuring, and he's not doing particularly bad with lock-picking (40+ somewhere). The conjuring works hand in hand since I have an upgradeable 'conjure battle ax'; I'd cut my teeth originally with a Skyforge Great Sword and just found something that I think might even surpass the conjured axe for a while when I was probing Labrinthia (some incredibly strong two-handed apparel, a bit similar to the ancient nord battle axes but closer to 5 or 7 weight and possibly a lot sharper).

Story lines finished:
Companions
Mage College
Forged the Gaulder Amulet
Had wolf queen's skull sanitized
Dawnstar is sleeping a little better
3 Thane positions working toward five
House in White Run, just bought one in Markoth.

I've been trying to enhance my position in Markoth, haven't really done much in Windhelm yet just because I still don't know who caused the war to bring the White Gold concordat into place (humans or elves instigated - why?) to really be clear on whether I'd rather side with Stormcloaks or Imperials. At the moment I just started a row with the Dark Brotherhood (and am dying to find a way to clean up Riften a little - this might help), gotta flush em out when I get home. :)

I have flame bolt, flame rune, the second form of the ice spell and lightning bolt. That's about it. Are there higher levels of spells that just aren't available to me yet?

Was Driftwood the place with the round wolf-fighting cage in the basement? If so yeah, that one's tricky. Seems like the best thing you can do is get them down the stairs a few at a time and, if you have a follower or house carl to bring with you all the better. I lucked out in that, when I'm in a tight spot like that, as an Orc I can use the Berserker rage - I like that actually a lot more than the werewolf skill because I can still pop potions, change over from a weapon to a spell and back to a weapon, hits are 50% less and damage dealt 50% more for either one or two minutes as I remember.

The guys in particular that you're talking about (I think), I had to use Berserker and even at that I had to drink a few potions. Worst comes to worst back yourself out of there, load up on potions, find a way to up your direct damage, bring a strong follower, and come back to it later.

It was a companion's quest so I had to brig Vilkas. I even bought higher level spells then the ones I listed and it wasn't really doing anything as I ran out of magika quicker. Soooo...I gave up on that file and decided to make a new character that is a dark elf mage with some thiefish tendencies. Seems to be going better so far. :)

BTW, does anyone know of a race that's known for speed/quickness in particular? If I develop another character I think I'd like to go for Florentine (2x 1 hand weapons).

OH MY GOSH I WANT SKYRIM!

Best of all, this might actually be the first game in a long time that my brother actually wants to play too. I can see us take turns and him watching. Actually, he denies it that he thinks Skyrim is the best game of 2011 in front of me, but our mother told me that he told her that he does like it, he just likes messing with me. She did tell me not to tell him what he said to her though.

I'm really hoping I get this for my birthday... I've been watching Let's Plays of it constantly!

Sucks that looks a bit strange and my face keeps disapearing., At least it lets my chaacter almost continuosly use spells.

Heh. I accidentally fire bolted M'aiq in the face at point blank range, but I had a good reason!

I was in Journeymen's Nook fighting bandits and he came charging in with a spriggan right behind him right in the middle of the fight. What was I supposed to think? At least I noticed his name when I set him on fire and healed him back up.

Shortly before that I'd been wondering if they'd put M'aiq in this game, too.

I have three shouts which I can't activate. The menu says that I must absorb dragon souls before they can be used, but I have killed six dragons already. What am I doing wrong?

Look at the bottom of the screen - there should be a command to "unlock" the shout. It's "R" on the PC, I don't know what it is on the 360 or PS3, but it should tell you.

Once you unlock the shout, that will cost a dragon soul to be able to use it. You also have to unlock each level of a shout (unless it was taught to you by someone else) with a separate soul. So it can cost three souls to fully unlock one shout.

This page lists the Skyrim racial bonuses.

Imperial, Khajiit, Orc, Nord, and Redguard seem to have relevant bonuses (one-handed, plus related bonuses).
