What are you playing right now?
Batman Arkham Knight. The graphics are amongst the most impressive I have seen on the PS4, but the developers made a catastrophic error by incorporating the Batmobile into the game. There are far too many tank battles, and I am only 20% through the game. It saddens me because it appears that boss fights have been sacrificed to accommodate the Batmobile. Lucius Fox is a welcome addition, though.

PSP and PS2 or perhaps maybe PCSX2 or PPSSPP if they are using emulators. I have a PSP but never heard of this title, I would probably just buy the PS2 version now and use PCSX2 if I was interested. I have a PS2 but its broken and has been cannibalized so I just run my PS2 games straight off the disc on my computer. I don't know about the legality of emulators when you don't have a working console anymore but I will redirect anyone inquiring to my PS2 power supply which is being used with a voltage regulator to power a few Raspberry Pi computers now.
Might be a little off topic but I find PS2 power supplies quite useful, they have a 12v output at 3-4 amps so you can power quite a few Raspberry Pis or other basic electronics with them fairly easy. They work as a variable bench power supply up to 12v in a pinch if you have a 12v gadget and you want to see just how low you can go. Just don't draw too much current, that will kill them I have found and there is no documentation as to what the max current is but I'd guess 3-4 amps cause I have powered at least 3-4 Raspberry Pis with one.

I wish fighting games like this were more popular. Like back when Guilty Gear (on the PS2) was a really huge thing. Back before Street Fighter 4 came along and KILLED EVERYTHING. Ugh. I ended up never playing THAT game just on general principle.
And it's been difficult to find opponents in most fighting games ever since. The one and only exception being Smash on the Wii U.
Well, there's also Mortal Kombat but obviously that's not quite the same (though it IS combo-heavy and fast). But I really wish Blazblue and Persona in particular could become major games like GG was back then. But nooooooooo. Everyone would rather very slowly poke each other to death in Street Fighter.
Bah. I'll stop here before this becomes a total rant.

Actually I agree!
It's real darn shame that games like Fate/Unlimited Codes don't get popular since that was one of the few fighting games that was ACTUALLY FUN! None of those moments when before you play a fighting game you go like "But I'm gonna get my ass kicked by pros and that ain't fun!
Hey you really seem to have a nice taste for fighting games! How 'bout we'd be friends?

Heh, sure, I'd be happy to be friends with you.
As for the fighters, yeah, SF in particular, just so much poking. But not just that, the whole "footsies" idea. Being into the genre as much as I am, I'm very familiar with the concept, but SF just... goes much too far with it. I remember one particular tournament match I saw, which was Rufus VS Zangief (which I may have spelled wrong). 90% of the match was the two characters just... dancing. Wobbling back and forth, and every now and then one of them would sort of wave a foot or fist in the vague direction of the other. This was "strategy" (ugh) of course. The match finally ended when the Zanghief player appeared to get bored of this, and simply waddled over and did some command throws. And this, a match between two known pros, was... ugh, just so boring.
And that's the thing about SF: it's just a simple game compared to many others, but that's EXACTLY why it attracts so many. It's much easier to learn, and your reaction speed and such doesnt have to be as fast as in things like GG, nor do you have to learn all that many complex combos. The way special moves function tends to be simpler as well.
And just.... uuuugh. I have very limited patience and very low tolerance for anything I think is "slow", and that game is definitely slow. And I cant really use my typical tactic of "charge forward and go totally berserk" in that game; it's practically designed AGAINST the idea, which is boring. Yet it's the one that gets all the attention. I have a hard enough time finding opponents in these games to begin with; most players will fight me only once, and then give up after that. Others, if they watch first, will often just refuse to try, assuming that they will lose. But now? It's even harder, since that still happens but the total population of non-SF players is just that much lower.
And it's not like EVERY other game is hyper-difficult to learn. Persona in particular isnt too tough to learn at all yet still plays alot like GG or Blazblue. But these days, with the industry trends being what they are.... if it's not *REALLY* easy, it's considered OMG IMPOSSIBLE and ignored. Is why I tend to stick to indie games these days, because as a rule I'm just not going to get much challenge out of the "major" games at all.
Now as for story elements in games, that's a whole different beast. I rarely pay attention to those; not fond of cutscenes or talky bits. Dont have the patience. It's always like "ARGH just shut up already let me play the damn game now!". With fighters in particular though I tend to not play the single-player stuff all that much to begin with. The AI usually isnt very bright, and it's just not as interesting as fighting actual opponents.
These days I mostly play Blazblue, Persona, and Smash. The less said about the new Guilty Gear, the better. That one just angers me and I refuse to touch it. That though is a whole other rant.
Lately though I havent played too much of any of them. I've been too absorbed into Mario Maker, Binding of Isaac, some bullet-hell shmups (the other genre I'm really good at), and a couple of other things on Steam.
And it's been difficult to find opponents in most fighting games ever since. The one and only exception being Smash on the Wii U.

Well to be fair it wasn't SF 4 coming along and killing so much as it was other companies screwing up their fighter franchises and other companies not really trying to be number 1. Namco pretty much shot Soul Caliber in the head with 5 and Tekken had already become a joke a while back. Dead or Alive just can't get itself to make a 6th game. Aksys really didn't care too much whether their games were the hottest on the market so much as they were the best thing they could produce at the time (And to be fair GG and BlazBlue have spawned many clones that we just don't see much of in the west). King of Fighters always has been its own little thing. Skullgirls is very much a passion project more than anything else.
Add to this that Capcom clings to Street Fighter like the life raft it is for them and it's understandable why it's pretty much number one (And tends to attract the craziest, most rude jerks in the fighting game scene).

Things like Tekken and Soul Calibur usually arent anything I take into account; I tend to regard the genre as being seperated into two halves, 2D and 3D, since they play very, very differently from each other. As a rule, I usually cant stand the 3D types. Dont like the way they play, never did. There are of course those that LOOK 3D but really arent (like the new MK, which has 3D graphics but is of the type of gameplay that I call a 2D fighter) but those are rare.
Though one way or another I still go with the ease of gameplay and longtime prominence of the series (I mean, it's been around for a VERY long time and has been super well-known that entire time).
As for the genre being populated by jerks... ahhh, sure as hell isnt restricted to SF. I've run into more than a few. Like the guy I met at an anime con, played against him (in GG, which is by far the one I'm best at), and it ended with him jumping up, shrieking an f-bomb at the top of his lungs (in a crowded gameroom), launching the controller at the table (it wasnt his), and stomping off. I mean, really, half of the freaking community acts like a bunch of toddlers. I try not to associate with any of them.
Oh I'm not saying that the only franchises don't have their prima donna crybaby jerks, but I have noticed that the SF crowd tends to be particularly vicious and elitist with many of them thinking "If it isn't SF, it isn't worth playing."
Anyways back on topic, currently playing Super Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and hopefully will be starting Xenoblade Chronicles X here now that I'm starting to get better from the super cold that had me down for the count for over a week.
