GTA didn't have much in the way of graphics with it's top down 3D view. But it's how it did it which made it more involving. I took to the controls easily as I played a game which had a similar layout where forward = FORWARD and not up regardless of position.

My friends couldn't understand how I took to it so well (the demo) But I knew I wanted it.

A game without graphics has to have playability attached to it. Something to keep the player coming back. I'd like to see MS come up with a reliable console, I'd like to see the Playstation4 ave backward compatibility for everything PSX about it.
It wont happen all the compatibility is downloadable second of all i asked microsoft to make Rayman 3 compatible with the 360 and ive been waiting 4 years and they havnt done it

I've seen Windows Seven advertised with people saying, "I told Microsoft what I wanted" and they did it. So on "this" note  they should make that for you.

In the real world, it would have to be major consumer demand, not just a few people here and there or less :(

I am very thankful to emulators though. Being able to relive my days... Evidently an era where some people on here were not eve born yet

I don't think next one will be last. I think the last generation of consoles will be all streaming games. Then they would only require changing the controller every so many years for a new experience. With Mind Control devices and more VR-like options and even a Matrix like gameplay experience with an experimental helmet design is in the works. I personally can't wait.

The games for DS are cheaper and yes good because Nintendo knows that graphics arnt what makes a good game its how playable it is and all.

I was going to say something to this effect, which is why I don't hold out much faith for Sony or Microsoft in the future. Sony has media and Microsoft has computers, they're only going to dedicate so much to gaming. Nintendo at this point is the ONLY company that focuses EXCLUSIVELY on video games, so they're going to do what it takes to make good ones.

And honestly, a lot of people talk about graphics improvement, I'm more concerned about gameplay improvement. The overly rendered graphics of this current generation has actually turned me off somewhat. Anything with shimmery skin and lens flare drives me nuts. Plus the games most companies will release becomes predictable after a while. Microsoft mostly puts out FPS's, and Sony puts out third person platformers. Give me something that'll blow my mind people! Come on!

They can still make the sound and graphics better and make them run cooler so the circuitry doesn't overheat like it does on the Xbox 360 and maybe the PS3 Slim.

I just want the next Xbox to be a wireless console. I would also like to see virtual reality become popular. I predict that games will continue to get more social (obviously). Isolating yourself and being a gamer is going to become a lot more difficult.

I think Nintendo is kind of shooting themselves in the foot while looking to the future. As it stands right now, I know a lot of people that own Nintendo Wiis. They bought them, bought Mario Kart and maybe one or two other games and that's it. The people I know with Xbox 360s and/or PS3s buy many more games per year than the Wii owners. The people I know with Wiis on average have a game collection size of 4 games. The other consoles is over 12. With that trend in mind (and I know it's true outside of the people I personally know), which console(s) will 3rd parties most likely support? On another note, not a single person I know that owns a Wii plans on buying Nintendo's next platform, unless something changes.

I spent a long time debating with myself whether or not to add a PS3 or 360 to my shelf next to the Wii, and I finally decided to wait a while, and possibly a long while. God of War 3 is a tempting festival of awesome, but most of the other games I wanted to play on PS3 or 360 are available... on the PC. And I've got a reasonably chunky computer, and had so for a year. And have yet to pick up most of those games, despite a few chances to purchase them.

I do love the Wii. I've got the flagship Nintendo titles, Super Mario Galaxy/NSMB, Twilight Princess, Brawl, and three exceptional third party games, No More Heroes, Madworld, and Guilty Gear Accent Core +. I know there are lots of great games on other consoles, and plenty of games I'd love to play and am unlikely to get to, but there is only so much time in a day, and I can really appreciate the work Nintendo does and the similar titles that hit their consoles from fearless developers who try to be innovative. Not all of them are successful, but rather than enjoy another "great" FPS from the 360 or PS3, I'm 250 hours into Team Fortress 2 on PC and loving it more than ever, while also enjoying Pokemon for the DS and eager to support new things developers bring to the Wii.
