DDR is also on the PS1, PS2? (not sure about ps2), X-Box and the X-Box 360, not just the Wii or arcade!
I used to play this game for at least 3 hours a day, not all in one course though. I'd play in blocks of hours usually, at seperate times of the day, like morning, afternoon, evening. Just depended! I played it A LOT though!
I wouldn't call myself great, but I was able to pass most any song on the hardest difficulty, and have even got some double A scores (great or better only timing on arrow presses).
Playing DDR well took a few skills to make use of. Following the music, coordination, speed, and balance. The faster the arrow presses the more you need of speed and balance and the less you need of rhythm and coordination! The more you want to perform tricky techniques (that make certain arrow combinations much easier to press) the more you need coordination.
There are also different ways to play DDR. I played it just for whatever fun I could get out of it. Others actually make dance routines out of it, and some can be very cool to watch.
I'd love to play more DDR but over the last couple of years I haven't been situated properly.
yeah, I have the ps2 ones., even though the only system I dont own is a ps3, but I only own the ps2 versions of DDR.
Im like you with the breaking it up into chunks *unless im feeling like risking an endless mode, which my record is like 6 hours straight. :/
as for techniques, the tutorial ISNT a good place to start. If you want to do higher difficulties dont put your feet back to the middle. (like my sister, who b*****s that she cant do hard songs, and says its stupid not to return to the middle.)
