One of the zones in World of Warcraft (at least until the Cataclysm) is Un'Goro Crater, a large crater next to the Tanaris Desert which is filled with a jungle. It's also a Lost World, featuring a number of dinosaur-like creatures wandering the valley. The safe zone is Marshall's Refuge, overseen by one Williden Marshall and his sister, Holli-something.

This, for those too young to remember, is an homage to the 1970s Saturday-morning TV show Land of the Lost, in which Dr. Marshall and his children, Will and Holly, fell through a crack in the earth into a hidden place full of dinosaurs and primitive hominids, as well as mysterious pyramids with crystalline control consoles inside (noted in Un'Goro Crater with power crystals in the valley, which can be placed into special tables around the rim of the valley to give the characters a temporary bonus of one sort or another). Fortunately, they stopped short of putting Sleestaks in there, unless there are some in the volcano in the center of the crater...

The role of Deus Ex hero JC Denton was originally given to Keanu Reaves, but it was later decided that his voice was too boring and monotone for the role. After a lengthy audition process, the part was instead awarded to the Windows text-to-voice guy.

...OK, I made that last one up as an inside joke. This one is true though: Walton Simons, one of the game's villains (and arguably the only well-acted part) was played by game designer Tom Hall. Aside from working on Deus Ex, Hall was also the creative director for Wolfenstein 3D and Doom.

In Silent Hill 3, near the beginning of the game, a toilet in the mall bathroom is cloged up. If you try to inspect it, Heather mentions there's something in it and if you have a SH2 save you can try to fish it out. If you do, Heather will start to but then chicken out, wondeing who would do such a thing. In SH2, James had to reach into a cloged toilet to get a key.

In pokemon red and blue, there is a trainer you can trade with who mentions that the Riachu he got from you evolved, which is impossibe as Riachu has no evoluions. This is because the game used data from the Japanese red and green, but the graphics and script from the Japanese blue where the pokemon was a Kadabra.

In Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck (NDS), Daffy launches a Shoryuken on his clone at one point. This is one of Ryu and Ken's moves in the Street Fighter (various consoles) series.

Konami's Solid Snake and Sega's Sonic, among others, originally had to be cut from Dairantou Smash Bros. Deluxe (GCN) due to time constraints. The former two turned up in Smash around seven years later, thanks to Dairanto Smash Bros. X (Wii).

Super Saiyan 4 Goku, after winning a battle in DragonBall Z: Sparking! NEO(PS2/Wii), has his winning line delivered by seiyuu Masako Nozawa, no matter what language you're playing the game in.
