Yeah I know what you mean. When I tried to go to sleep I'd be thinking about nonstop. Oh my. Nice job staying calm there haha.

Why are you surprised? I like how she's kinda silly but can be very serious when the situation calls for it. Yeah, I've watched it two times cause I missed some of what they said. (Glitchiness ahhh.) I know! I've been both excited and nervous since Terezi fell down into that room with Gamzee. Gamzee seems to want to use her to kill Vriska though so I think she's safe... From him. But it also looks like Vriska and Terezi won't be having a showdown. Seeing Gamzee with those heads was disturbing. (NEPETA. ;_;) It made me realize exactly how messed up he is. I agree. Eridan's a jerk. >:o But everyone else is pretty awesome.

Ah, yeah, I still watered my plants every time I saw them dry though. Tedious task but meh. A Wonderful Life was kind of boring. I think they just want to move forward cause otherwise their games might not sell. I like the ones for the wii but really only when using the classic controller. Harvest Moon games are pretty much all the same even though they have different plots and marriage options. Same basic thing though: Farm, get married, care for animals, have a kid, befriend townsfolk, save the town/Harvest Goddess/market/whatever.

Your avatar. Kind of figured Nepeta would be your favorite. lol Wait, you think they won't get a showdown? Sure, the last couple of ones kind of ended suddenly with death, but that just makes me feel like it's about time for a real one. On the downside, I think Vriska's going to win. Her plan to seek Jack is just too bad NOT to happen, you know? Also, it fits in with all the role playing/past lives thing. On the up side, I'm betting Terezi gets god powers somehow. That's actually what I'm hoping for all the dead trolls. They had to die for some reason, right? They can't just be gone forever, can they? T_T

You think that's Gamzee's plan? I didn't think Gamzee even had a plan at this point other than terrify, torture, and murder. That kind of explains the jury thing though. (Which I agree was incredibly freakin' disturbing.) That was what made you realize how messed up he is? I started being scared senseless of him right about the time he commented in Karkat's last memo. "FTC: i'm in your future, best friend. FTC: I KNOW WHERE YOU motherf****ng ARE. FTC: and what you'll motherfuckin do." Scariest. Three. Lines. EVER. And "Seek the highb100d." was just... *shiver* >_<

The new ones just seem so weird to me. I mean, yeah, they're the same basic game, but... My sister owns Animal Parade. I was watching her play it, walked away for five minutes, and suddenly she's got a cow! I felt so cheated. You're supposed to work hard for those cows, darn it!

I think I'll stick to my handheld versions. Harvest Moon is just one of those games where I like getting the same exact experience over and over. One day I will finally get Vaughn to marry me! (Working on Island of Happiness.)

I'm just using this Nepeta avatar (May I ask what your avatar is? It's cute.) cause my Terezi one was too large. And Nepeta is just cute. :33 She actually was my favorite before I got to the troll part. I was told she was my zodiac troll which made me favor her up until I thought Terezi was better. Well Terezi is flipping her coin and for some reason that makes me think she won't be fighting- Wait. If it lands so that Vriska stays then... Maybe they will get a showdown. Or maybe the other way around. I think that what happened to the trolls' ancestors the opposite will happen to them. Mainly just with death though. Because... Tavros' ancestor killed Vriska's and Vriska killed Tavros. So I think Terezi will somehow end up killing Vriska. That's very little proof for my idea but eh. Well in order to reach God Tier she'd have to die on her quest bed... In her land. I don't see that happening but then again I think we saw the God Tier symbol for Mind in the latest update. And the other trolls are already dead and so are their dreamselves so I see no hope for them getting to the God Tier. =( But I think that somehow they'll all come back to life in the end. SOMEHOW. If they don't then I'll be sad. John's dead though so I see a bigger chance of that happening.

Well if I understood it all correctly Gamzee's ancestor hired Terezi's ancestor to get Vriska's ancestor so he might be doing basically the same thing. I thought his plan at first was more like "I AM MOTHERF***IN HIGHER THAN ALL OF YOU. and so i'm going to kill you all." ... He doesn't really make sense. Yeah that was pretty terrifying but I didn't know he was the kind of crazy to cut the heads off their bodies and put them on his jury thing. o_o And to think he was so funny and cool back in Act 5 Part 1. Yeah I got freaked out when I was crawling in the vents as Nepeta. I was playing at night too without lights on.

You may be right. In Animal Parade it only took me 3 years to get married, have both my kids, become really rich, beat the game, and send my daughter on her merry way. But it's still very fun.

Exact same? Even marrying the same people and getting the same animals with the same names? Good luck with him. Everyone seems to want to marry him but I don't blame them. He seems kind and is quite handsome. Reminds me of Skye. Have you played Grand Bazaar?

But remember when she did the coin flip in her scalemate/stuffed dragon doll trial? The result was unfavorable and she was all "Do you think I'd leave such an important decision to luck? FOOL!" I mean, Vriska's got a point. It'd be kind of dumb for her to get in a luck battle with the girl who steals her luck from her enemies. That's why I think the coin toss doesn't really matter any.

Oh, right! I forgot about the reversal between Tavros and Vriska! That is a real good point. I guess things won't be playing out identically. I mean, they kind of already weren't, but... Aw, wait. I just went to check out Aradia's wiki page. I thought maybe the godteir thing was an option for all the poor dead trolls because I thought she got there without having to be in her bed, but she just did it weirdly. Nvm.

Still, it's a point, right? They've got to come back SOMEHOW. You can't just kill off... how many is it now? Six major characters (by my count) in a pretty quick and non-dramatic manner and that just be it. Especially John. That CAN NOT just be it for John.

Haha, I got to that part late at night with the lights off too!

Not exactly exactly the same, more like I just have this set routine for beating the game. Get up, cows/chickens, water/harvest, people, fish/mine/clearing land, bed. I like knowing the order I need to buy things too, like that you need to get chickens then cows, and knowing which upgrades I need to buy and what the most important goals are to accomplish in each stage of the game. And that doesn't work in the newer ones with their quirky quirks.

I set out to get him because he seemed like the hardest without being unreasonably hard like the Witch Princess or something. I'm kind of tempted to marry Denny though because he already loves me and he's on the island more than two days a week. @_@ Unfortunately, I haven't played that one. As much as I love the Harvest Moon games I have played, that number is pretty limited. Is that one good?

Yes, that is one of my favorite parts. "SHE'S BLIND REMEMBER?!" But remember luck doesn't actually matter. So she might leave an important decision to a coin flip. And I think that's really the only way she could get Vriska to agree to staying. Whoa wait she steals luck from her enemies?

She did do it weirdly. Why was her quest bed in Derse? I wish I knew. Maybe it says what's up with that on the wiki? She's pretty cool when she's alive.

Well some of them weren't exactly MAJOR characters. Like what point did Nepeta have in the story? I don't recall her doing really anything of much importance in the story. Maybe being Equius' moirail was it but I'm not sure. I agree with you though. And about John yesss. That was horrible to just kill him off so dramatically and then leave us hanging. I've been told that his death wasn't very heroic or just so he's coming back. Plus he still hasn't had his first conversation with Karkat yet. (From Karkat's point of view that is.) Don't forget the scratch. The trolls might be able to cause one of their own.

Pretty scary right? honk HONK. :o)

Oh I see. How can't you do that in the newer games? The Witch Princess isn't really hard to marry in Island of Happiness. She's actually pretty easy but her heart events are weird. Well when you marry him he stays on the island all but two days of the week. Aw, too bad. I think it's good but everyone else says it strays from previous Harvest Moons. It's different and all but I think it's actually my favorite! The characters are all so cute.

Haha, yeah, that part was sweet. And kind of scary too. 0-0

Oh, snap, I forgot about this part too. I love how complex and huge this story is, but sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the crazy, time-switching details. @_@ That's a good point. But I can't really see Vriska just giving up regardless of the flip either.

Yeah. Whenever she got her eye back (which I don't think anybody ever explains how, do they?) she apparently got that power. Remember that battle she had with the knight-robot thing that looked like the one Gamzee killed in Seek the highb100d. She zapped it's luck and then the ground crumbled under it. I think it was during one of the "game" segments. Apparently that's why she's on this luck binge.

Nah, it just describes what happened on the wiki. "Her dream self was killed on her Quest Bed when Jack Noir attacked Derse, causing her to be transformed into a fully realized and fully alive Maid of Time." That's it. I don't think anybody really gets it. And agreed. I didn't really like her all that much when she was dead, but now I think better of her.

It's more like I'm too stubborn to adjust, really. I get all "What do you mean my crops are failing? This simply isn't right! I'm an excellent farmer!" Only I'm not. XD I think I'm going to give Animal Parade another chance tomorrow though. All this HM talk makes me want to start a new farming life. : D I've been poking around the internet. Do you get your own shop in that one? That actually sounds kind of interesting. Of course, it probably sounds interesting to me because that sounds like Recettear except with farming instead of adventuring. Have you ever heard of Recettear? It's pretty fun.

Yeah, that's why when there's a recap I'm like "Oh god so much writing but I'm confused on this so I'm reading it." Cause it really helps explain a lot. Vriska does seem like the kind of person not to keep her word. We'll see.

I need to start paying more attention! I'm just gonna re-read the whole thing.

Well. I guess nobody knows! Oh wait you said that. I thought she looked pretty cool as a ghost though.

Good luck with Animal Parade! Who would you marry? Oh hey, what ones have you played? Yeah, you get your own shop I guess. You get a booth at the bazaar where you sell almost anything you have in your rucksack and you sell items weekly. Well most of the time it's weekly but sometimes holidays and birthdays get in the way. No I haven't. What's it about?

I always skipped the recaps. ^_^; I keep trying to re-read, but I just can't sit by patiently while John throws his stuff around the house like a moron. >_<

Somebody got some kind of weird stuff on the back of the disc. I couldn't play hardly any of it without getting a disc read error. : ( All the characters are so cute, though! I've played the N64 vers, Back to Nature on the PS1, More Friends of Mineral Town on the GBA, A Wonderful Life for the GC, Harvest Moon DS, and Island of Happiness on the DS.

It's basically a game about running a shop. Your dad mysteriously abandons you, leaving you with an incredible debt and a rundown shop. With the aid of a loan-fairy, your job is to pay off your weekly debt which gets higher every week. You earn money by hiring adventurers to go into dungeons, fight monsters, and find stuff for you to sell. You get to control the adventures in the dungeons and fight the enemies, and when you get back to the surface you get to haggle with the customers who enter your shop. It's pretty fun.

Aw that sucks. Harvest Moon DS is super hard to get married in, did you manage to though? That does sound pretty fun. o: Adventure and owning a shop. Kinda reminds me of Rune Factory. Rune Factory games are fun, but it can be hard to get married. All the girls are so different ahhh.

Me either! I mean small stuff like a manga volume I'm OK, but anything longer and more text-heavy than that and I succumb to the urge to skim. : (

I think in that one my barn collapsed, killing all my cows. I was so sad I just couldn't go on! Well, more like I was too mad to go on. XD Did you notice that one was kind of glitchy? The harvest sprite things didn't work for one. And every so often the colors would just go all wonky.

If you've got a Steam account, you can pick up a free demo for Recettear. Really? I am all for character variety. My sister has Rune Factory Frontier (I think?) for the Wii, but she lost it. I was going to try it when Animal Bazaar didn't work right. Man, I tell you, you just can not keep games in my house. My little brother actually managed to break a Gamecube, if you can believe it. I still can't. @_@

/rings bell

Flowers for sale! Turnips for sale!

(That's right: I like Grand Bazaar)

I've been playing since HM64. I didn't play much of that one, but I did play FoMT, SI, and GB (although I prefer "Welcome to the Wind Bazaar"). Also the online version.

How I describe it is a RPG without combat.

You have a farm. It's a mess of a thing, with weeds, branches, and rocks everywhere (actually, Grand Bazaar didn't have that...). You work the land, planting, watering, and harvesting crops. You buy animals and harvest their products (eggs, wool, and milk... some others, maybe? I haven't played all the games. No meat, though). Build and expand your farm.

Go into the village and form lasting friendships with people, as well as meet and woo your potential spouses (and, of course, eventually marry them and have children). Find and befriend the harvest sprites, and they'll help you with your farm.

Take part in festivals and contests, fish for some extra income, mine for ores (necessary for upgrading tools as well as making items in some games), become a master chef...

And, of course, follow the main quest storyline (for example, in Sunshine Islands, you're tasked with raising the islands that have sunk into the sea using special items called "sun stones." In Grand Bazaar, you have to return the bazaar to its former glory).

I was going to try it when Animal Bazaar didn't work right. Man, I tell you, you just can not keep games in my house. My little brother actually managed to break a Gamecube, if you can believe it. I still can't. @_@

Oh my gosh the newer updates freaked me out. I was seriously scared Terezi was going to killed. I'm glad she's not dead! :D

Aw, yeah that's why it's better to use higher level material when building barns and coops. It is pretty hard to continue playing when stuff like that happens. Yeah, I remember when I was playing in winter and I hired the fishing team to fish on the beach and the next day I was insanely rich. I was like "... What. Well... Awesome!"

It's not a bad thing it's just that it was hard to woo some of the girls and marry them. That one is really fun it's too bad she lost it. It's Animal Parade. Oh wow. I know some people who've gone through like 3 Gamecubes in the past however many years and my family has only had one in the past 8 and it's still working!

Haha, I played Magical Melody today and I started a new game so I'm doing a whole bunch of stuff. I managed to get married in my first summer! To Basil. Summer 28. It was hard to do but whoo new record. :D Once I was mining to get some money for the double bed and I go down to floor 2 and step on a crack and it shoots me up and this happened three times in a row. xD

I think MrLoony summed it up well so... Yeah.

I'm scared for everybody nowadays. I mean, you kill off John you can kill off anybody, you know?

The sad thing was, I just about had the materials I needed to upgrade my barn when it collapsed. T_T I finally found one of my sister's lost games, but I have had three incredibly stressful days. Maybe tomorrow I'll start a new game. The Wii ones just have such cute characters. I'm loving the art style of all of them. Wow. Seriously? That is freakin' awesome.

I agree. MrLoony pretty much nailed it.

By the way: For those that want to discuss HM in a forum environment:

http://www.fogu.com/hmforum

I post there. Currently, I'm mostly posting in Grand Bazaar and the general chat section.

Anybody except Jack and Gamzee.

Aww, that sucks. =( What game did you find? I think Luna was extremely cute in Tree of Tranquility. What's awesome?

Ah, yeah, I'm a member of that forum. I'm not exactly fond of it though.
