mine will always be the ps2.

all my computers have always been not good enough for current games over the years. even my newest is still a bit under par. and i only recently found out about the whole customizing thing.

but in the long run when it comes to games that have mods or addons the pc wins but when it comes to speed and smoothness the consoles win.

like dragon age the pc has the mods the ps3 has the graphics and speed. though they both eventually lag.

The PC.

1. because of PC games like Command and Conquer and Elder Scrolls Morrowind and Oblivion.

2. because I could emulate an N64. I've got a USB x-box style control I want to use to play Zelda Ocarina of Time sometime soon.

I like my PS3 and Wii. I don't really want or need a 360 because a variety of the games for the 360 I can get for my PS3. I really like my Wii as well, probably because in Metroid Prime Corruption I move my arms with the wii remote for controls. So yeah.

I like my PC too. Just not as much. I want Left 4 Dead and Halo 2.

I'd say the Wii, because you can play classic games from all of the other consoles on it. Plus, there's WiFi play on games like Mario Kart Wii, and it's pretty cool to play against people all over the world.

I've got a PS3 and my roommate has a 360. While MW2 on the PS3 dominates my life, there is nothing that will replace the PC.

It does everything else a console can, with lesser graphics quality, but with all the accessibility that make it user friendly.

The PC will always be superior in technology because you can always upgrade it: Compare a console with PC equipped with a i7 processor, SSD, ATI 5970/NVidia 480 and 24 GB mem, and you'll start crying if you have a console because you CANNOT upgrade it like that. There is real, and not just fictional, backwards compatibility. You can run older stuff in it (VM or Emu) without having to manipulate the box, you can mod your games and also attach cool stuff like tripplehead projector "surround" gaming and Track IR.

Basically, a PC with all these possibilities turns consoles gaming to yesterdays P.O.S. It is more expensive - yes, but that's not what this topic is about.

The only thing that were better than a PC was the Amiga series, they had everything then that PC's got 10 years later, but Commodore f**** everything up.

I'm with a lot of people on the "PC" thing. I prefer my computer for gaming, since it holds the largest variety of gaming for me. I've done a fair bit of gaming on consoles and computers both, so I know the ups and downs.

Console gaming has the advantage of typically being A LOT more stable. My last video card had a bug introduced after an OS upgrade (big mistake). Upgrading the video card drivers didn't resolve it. Nothing did, except for a new video card. Now, this new video card is a lot better than my old video card, except it has an even WORSE bug than my old video card which makes it perform overall worse than my old video card. I don't have those problems on console games. I've experienced A LOT less bug hell on console games (not that they are without bugs. Halo 2 anyone?).

Gaming on a computer, I generally have a lot more control over my CONTROLS. I'm so tired these days of console games and their BAD control presets with NO control customization options. I can't even play some games because of such bad design. On the computer, most games let me change my controls to ANYTHING I want. Even on some of the rare games I come across that don't, I can use 3rd party software to re-map my keys in any fashion and just simulate changed controls.

So, overall, console gaming has a lot better performance in my experience, while computer gaming just has a much larger variety and overall more customization. I'll take computer gaming as my favorite, and console gaming on the side.

Count me with this quote.
I am surprised no one has quoted Sega Dreamcast.Soul Caliber is its essential purchase.

PC, But if you were specifically talking about "Gaming Consoles" (PS/2/3, Xbox/360, GameCube, ect); Play Station 3

PC or PS3

N64. It had a lot of great classics (Super Mario 64, LoZ Ocarina and Majora, etc). I don't run Windows, so PC gaming is out for me—it's not worth it to have something as expensive as a gaming-quality PC for the sole purpose of games.

It's an interesting idea, but at least in my experience the Wifi play on Wii is so laggy that you hardly even play.

I've never been a pc guy just because I could never keep up with one to play new games and plus the pc isn't a console... it's a pc. Duh it would be the best since all games are made on the pc before they hit a console anyway. Sadly I've never had the money or computer knowledge to keep up with one because I realize consoles are always years behind the pc.

As far as favorite console I'd say mine would probably be PS2 since Most of the best games I've seen came out for that thing. As far as now, mine is my PS3 cuz I can play old PS2 and PS1 games on it as well... and it fricken does everything :)

I guess that a PC would have many more advantages over other gaming systems, but I don't use my computer for gaming because it doesn't have much space left on it. Though I like the Wii, I'm the lazy type of gamer who prefers to just sit on the couch and press buttons with my thumbs, and the Wii seems to be better for active, arm-waving play. I'm familiar with and like systems from the Playstation series. I guess that the Playstation 3 is my favorite, but only because it lets me play the latest Playstation games. I'm kind of dissapointed in it. The graphics look better, but so far that's the only advantage I've noticed. Well, I know that I can hook it up to the internet. I'll try that eventually.

I don't like motion gaming much at all. It feels gimmicky like 3D movies. 3D has been around since before I was born and now it's spreading around like wildfire. Those stupid glasses give me migraines >_< the same with motion gaming, the concept has been around since maybe around the NES with that stupid power glove thing. Honestly I don't like many games that could even be controlled by simple hand movements and honestly on top of that... I have no calories to burn lol. I'd pass out and die from hitting something on my way down to the floor lol :) I don't fit America's generic views of what a gamer looks like. I'm 6'3" and only weigh like 150lbs... why the hell should I have to exercise. I'm seriously concerned that games will become way too easy and application like if all games go motion based. There's no way in hell anybody could play Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden with a Wii remote... it would just be pointless torture. If everything goes motion based I think I'll give up games and stick solely with art :)
