I really hope for a new Manhunt game, devoid of the censorship and pussification that ruined Manhunt 2. Bring on the pixelated ultraviolence!

Some video games are violent. So are films, yet no-one complains about that.

Has anyone noticed the level of violence that video games are offering these days? Microsoft spent at least a third of their last E3 press conference dishing out shooter after shooter. And why is virtually every MMO obsessed with killing and witchcraft? What happened to the "family-friendly" titles? Is it so hard to ask for a "play infrount-of your gandma" safe MMO that is fun to play?

Glad to know that people like TheThinker recognize today's video games for what they are - repetitious 'hold RT to fire' fragfests, or 'press Left Mouse to use Fireball' grinding sessions. As a gamer who has been playing for almost 20 years, there is a point when violoence just isn't fun anymore.

In response to TheThinker's question, it's not hard to ask for a family-friendly MMO, but you won't find one without some violence and/or killing. The closest game to an MMO that's not very violent is on the Nintendo 64; The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time , Zelda: Majora's Mask, or, if you're into racing games, Hydro Thunder might be worth looking into.

Games where you just lean on rapid-fire all the time do get repetitive, though I think there were far more of those being released in the past than there are now. I prefer more elaborate violence when it comes to newer games. Stealth and careful timing make it more rewarding and interesting once the enemy's pixelated flesh gets brutally pounded or shredded. :D

I agree. I don't judge games by how violent they are, but by how enjoyable they are.
