Steam has a large selection of MMO's from various companies.

And thousands of other titles to choose from.

Path of Exile maybe

I know its an RGP and its Multiplayer but I don't know thats an MMO, I played it a while ago when it was in beta and I can't remember if you play in a small group online or rather everyone is online. I don't really play MMOs but I am assuming to qualify as an MMO everyone needs to be on the same server, no?

Well it is more of an moba, but I play League of Legends and that's free. It's basically a 5 vs 5 battle, and there are tons of champions to choose from to battle with I don't think I have even played as half of them yet. You can pay for different skins for the champions or sometimes they have bundles and such you can buy with RP points which you pay money for...but that stuff is optional not a necessity. Aside from that you collect IP points playing matches which you use to buy champions so then you can build experience on them.

So if you can live without a vast world to explore, and like rather intent battle with a bunch of awesome characters to fight as...then you might like League of Legends.

There's Neverwinter. It's based off of D&D and I think it is made by Perfect world or something...

Even though I don't like posting, but I'll say my choice of mmorpgs. DC universe is free to play. Marvel universe is suppose to be launched but that failed. Never winter was already mentioned in this feed. But its still a good game. I wished assassins creed would be a online mmorpg and don't forget fallout online might come in the future. But those games I mentioned will never happen. Elder scrolls online is free to play. That wasn't mentioned in the list of mmorpgs.

There is also World of Warcraft Classic or "Vanilla". You can find it on line by searching wow vanilla on Google. I have used the Nostalrius server(s). They have a PVP server, which surprisingly was not that bad. Not sure what I expected. Recently they started a PVE server.

Concerning my PVP comment. I am not a PVP gamer. Consequently, I had visions of other players coming up and killing me on the spot. That has not happened. I have not played the PVE server that much.

Guild Wars 2 went free to play when the new expansion came out.

DC Universe is also nice if you like DC.

Star Wars the Old Republic is fun, plus the story is good.

Everquest is free to play and on the Test server you get all access and gold membership for free and exp is double than live servers and expansions are all free. Ya also get a one time free heroic upgrade on a character instantly to level 85 and a full set of gear and a buncha aas and even not or if you used it up you can get a testbuf instantly to lvl 25 with a full set of gear and your spells. If you are interested its free to download and as it download changed the settings to Test and as ya log in and are looking for a guild ask for Zeksiz hes my main im max exp in level 105 and currently max aaed! Im the leader of a guild called Demonic Myth were casual laid back folks but working on becoming a raiding guild, we participate in open raids every Monday with Infinty of Light and Primal Brood at around 9 pm est! I am one of the top sks on the server that is not a raid copy. If I am not on pst to one of my officers or the coleader known as Technotank and he can provide ya info or shoot ya an invite.

If all you want is never-ending grinding then get Torchlight II. It's a local game, so no worries about some corporation ripping you off down the line or switching off the servers. Two MMOs in a franchise I played went down the pan.

If you want really good looking armour sets, play Lords of the Fallen. The combat is enjoyable but the story is fairly shallow. Again, it's a local game.

I play alot of mmo's if your looking for free, i might suggest Ragnarok Online II, it is fun and certainly has an interesting storyline. I also Play Tera, Rift, and DC Universe Online though DCUO isn't always the most fun until you can get some of the other powers that require a purchase. Though Tera has a learning curve to play it since attacks have to be manually aimed and positioning plays a huge part in combat even missing your attacks or dodging ones aimed at you.
