I've watched a few let's plays. I mostly prefer blind LP's though (when someone records a video of them playing a game for the first time).

Anyone else like going on there to watch someone play a video game and they upload it. Sometimes I use it as a walk through when I get stuck rather than reading the walk through on Gamespot.

I LOVE doing that. I've always enjoyed watching people play more than actually playing. And if I ever actually get to play the game, I already have an idea how to beat the bosses! People are wowed when I tell them it was my first time.

I've not done this lately, but I used to enjoy watching people play horror games, especially on blind runs. I used to like it when they got scared and you could hear their reactions ^_^

I've been looking around for a walk-through video on YouTube, because I can't remember how to beat the time puzzle at Pnemonic Station Iota in A Crack In Time.

Would any of you be so kind as to post it if you ever come across it?

I don't usually watch regular video playthroughs unless I want a visual guide because a text faq isn't working for me. I used to watch Lets Plays occasionally, but I don't very often anymore. As a rule, I don't watch one unless I've either played the game already and want to see someone else play through it, or have absolutely no intention of ever playing through it, but wouldn't mind seeing someone else play through it. The novelty of simply watching someone else play a game has worn off, so I kind of treat an LP as someone's show(that's what it always was anyways). They have to talk at least a little bit, and they have to be entertaining.

I do often watch various review shows, like AVGN. Most of them are focused more on retro games, but not all of them are.

Me too; always seems fun and they're kinda like those old VHS tapes of how to beat video games. Good times.....

All the time. :)

Especially the extremely prolific SSoHPKC, but also Helloween4545 as well as sometimes his associates Klyka1 and occasionally Kikoskia (as PF mentioned).
There also some small channels that aren't too bad, like DameolSC.

I've compiled a list of highlights from particular videos that I love to revisit. :P

Oh! I like cubex55. He uploads Longplays (A Complete Nonstop Run Through Of The Game From Start To Finish) contributed from so many people. I currently have a list of games I want to see from him.

Megaman X6 through Command Mission
Megaman ZX Advent
Megaman Legends 1 & 2 and that prequel I forgot what it was called.
Batman Arkham City (Complete with all side missions and DLC post story)
Alternate Resident Evil series Missions
3DS Longplays
True Crime LA, NY, and Sleeping Dogs
Destroy all Humans! Series
And some others I can't think of right now.

Giantbomb is a great site for this sort of thing. I've never checked if they upload any videos onto YouTube, but what they have on their site streams great anyway.

They did a 24hour "quick look" when dark souls came out, and they post lots of videos of all the good games. And on a kind of unrelated note, they do a podcast (which obviously doesn't involve people playing games) but they do talk about them. Sometimes.

I've watched a whole lot of Quake 3, DooM and Starcraft 2 related stuff (pocasts, commentary, games, etc). Lots of tutorials on modding and editing too (eg DooM, with Doombuiler mostly).

Yep. Definitely when I'm stuck. I kind of prefer written walkthroughs more, however.

I don't like Let's Plays or other gameplay videos with spoken commentary (unless it's something like Retsupurae where they make fun of stuff). I just can't stand hearing another person's voice while I'm trying to watch a video walkthrough or something, and it's even worse when they try to put on some kind of act. At least we have the mute button.

I like some LPs. It kinda depends on a lot of factors. If it's a game with a huge emphasis on the story ( like Final Fantasy ) I usually want to live the story myself. And that way I don't have to hear some guy ruin it by talking.

I do like watching them if the guy playing is very skilled in the game. I know a LP of Mario 64 where the guy takes all possible stars without using any cannons, picking up any coins and activating any switch. All the while talking about various bugs in the game. Being a game programmer myself I find this very entertaining. And it's fun to see all the weird bugs you can find in Super Mario 64.

I also like the LPs of raocow, mostly because all the weird things he says. And some of the games ( hacks/remakes of Super Mario World from SNES. )

And also sometimes I watch StarCraft with commentary, becuase I don't find StarCraft matches entertaining all by themselves.
