Blizzard bans those who use Linux from playing their games

As I see it it doesn't have anything to do with cracking, it is the cheating.
Other blizzard games witht ies to a real economy... none then.

While (if they gave it some thought) it'd probably be in their interests (especially given Microsoft's withdrawal from the home computer OS market) to engage with people using Linux, they're under no obligation to provide support to people trying to use their game in an environment for which it wasn't intended.


It isn't about them *not supporting* those who use Linux - it is about them *actively* making sure that they cannot play the game. What is so hard to understand with this? This is nothing else but fraud.


Check the license agreement. It'll say in there that Blizzard can shut down your account at any time with no reason, no warning, and no appeal and then go on to specify that you are agreeing to these terms and therefore it isn't fraud.


Sorry, you haven't got a legal leg to stand on. It's bad business practice, but they haven't even come close to breaking a law.

I am not even sure what Linux is, but if the game was used in a way that went against what was written in the agreement signed when the game was installed, then Blizzard can do anything that was mentioned in the said agreement. Unfortuantly the law is very black and white, and your rights go right out if you do something against it, and Blizzard has an even bigger responsibility to come down on people if their actions may affect the experience of other customers.

Linux is a operating system like Windows or the Mac OS.
